Many people choose to stay in the town they love when they decide to make a move.

There are many opportunities to stay active. You’ll find craft projects, a walking club, an exercise class, books to read, and card and scrabble games to join. There is always something to do, and someone to do it with.

Wilkinson Woods is a community of people dedicated to helping you stay healthy, active and engaged so you can truly enjoy this time of life. The activities offered at Wilkinson Woods match the diverse make-up of those who live here. People at Wilkinson Woods are as active as they want to be. Every month there is a full calendar of social and educational opportunities.

In our communities, seniors do not merely reside. They thrive. That’s because ensuring their good health and helping them stay active and engaged isn’t merely part of a mission statement that hangs on a wall, it’s part of our daily routine. We monitor the number and types of programs at Wilkinson Woods monthly to make sure that the expected balance of social, wellness, creative, educational and spiritual activities are scheduled. Here are a just a few examples of Wilkinson Woods activities:

Social

Play cards or bingo, and join the group for a movie each Sunday night. Check the calendar for shopping and sightseeing trips, and outings like a concert in Oconomowoc Park. Try drumming, make popcorn, decorate cupcakes or enjoy a “pet therapy visit.” Cheer on the Brewers or the Packers with all the fans watching the lobby TV. You’ll find lots of opportunities to socialize every single day.

Health & Wellness

Try the exercise class, sit and dance or stretching. The Walking Club gets everyone moving and doubles as a social club. Build balance with the beanbag toss. Get your blood pressure checked or talk to the nurse about your medications. And enjoy healthy and tasty dining daily, with choices at every meal, prepared onsite by highly trained chefs. We offer tangible ways to live healthier.

Creative and Educational

Try quilting or craft classes or attend a cooking demonstration (and eat or drink the results!) Join the current events group or challenge yourself with mind games or crossword puzzle time. It’s easy to stay active and involved.

Spiritual

Continue to attend your own congregation or come to Lutheran Services, Liturgy of the Word or weekly Communion, each on different days of the week. Services are offered right at Wilkinson Woods. There are many opportunities to remain spiritually nourished. Wilkinson Woods is open to all faiths.

Both my parents moved to Wilkinson Woods in 2011. It was hard to move them from their own home but everyone there welcomed them with a warm heart and open arms. In no time my parents felt at home. The staff kept them involved with activities , and personal attention. When it got to hard for my father to walk the hall they gave us a apartment closer to the elevator to make it easier for them. When a health issue would come up I was always informed right away. Having a doctor coming to the home was a huge plus. And Dr. Cooper is a very caring person that works with the Elderly with passion. All of the nurses aids and staff are some of the warmest hearted people I have met. They treated my parents like their own. My father passed in 2013 and at that time they paid extra attention to my mother with giving her comfort and just taking the time to talk to her. Sad to say my mother passed away 2 months ago. But as her health worsened she was able to stay in her apartment until she died. The aides and others also comforted me during the difficult time. Yes I miss my parents but I also miss the workers at Wilkinson Woods. I praise all of them for the care and love they showed and gave my parents. I feel they are like family; God Bless them all for the work they do. I would recommend Wilkinson Woods to any family who need help when their parents get to that point in life.. They are Wonderful !!!!!
