About This Community
Situated on 42 acres overlooking Puget Sound, halfway between Seattle and Tacoma, Wesley Homes Des Moines has been home to northwest seniors since 1944. We offer a variety of living options including cottage homes, apartments, assisted living and skilled nursing. A full calendar of activities is available every week featuring fitness classes, hobby groups and our own TV station. But it's the gardens and the views that have kept generation after generation coming back to Wesley Homes.

As a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community, Wesley Homes Des Moines offers peace of mind to residents and their families who know that they have a home as their needs change - even if they run out of resources through no fault of their own. A comprehensive network of services is available to residents right here on campus.

We offer a monthly discovery luncheon the third Thursday of every month. Call us at today to reserve your spot at our next gathering.

We found Wesley Des Moines. It's close to our doctors and the area that we're familiar with. It had a lot of activity and everything going for it. They all seemed great. We just liked the location of it. We tried the food. It was lunch time, and we just had a sandwich. We're planning to move when there's a spot available that is what we want.

This facility is NOT consistently checking visitors for Covid vaccination proof, nor is it requiring masks. This lack of attention to mandates puts all of its residents at risk. Shameful.

We chose Wesley Homes Des Moines for Mom. They give her lots of opportunities, lots of good care, and oversight. They have a good library, social activities like board games, Bingo, and excursions. They also have their own activities on the site as well, like little fairs and family days. I like the food. It's well prepared, healthy, and there's a good variety. They have the full range of care, from independent living, all the way up to nursing care. The staff is very well organized and competent. They have the widest range of activities of all the facilities I've seen. It's such a large facility.

My mom was in independent living in Wesley Homes Des Moines. Her apartment was really nice, and they had quite a few activities. I would say that the food is average, but my mom didn't enjoy the food as much as she does at her current community. They had everything that I can think of, like a library, gym, and a bistro if you don't want to go to the dining room. It was not as friendly as the other senior place, but it was very clean and well maintained, and everything was upgraded. They're really good on maintenance. It's a huge facility with beautiful flowers and rose gardens, and the grounds were impeccable. There were places to walk and wheel around and a gardener kept it up.

Wesley Homes Des Moines had a very impressive setting, and I liked the fact that it was a real community with units where you can live independently. It also had assisted living and memory care -- the whole shebang. It had substantial grounds overlooking a beautiful scenery of the inlet from the Pacific Ocean.

Mom lived at Wesley Homes for four years. The building was getting kind of old, but the people there were very nice. They had a wider variety of activities for their 400 residents in two buildings. The food was okay.

My grandmother was a resident in The Arbor of Wesley Homes and she stayed there for several months prior to her passing. The staff at Wesley homes was very helpful and caring especially those in the Arbor. My grandmother enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that she was able to still have freedom and be a part of activities. She was able to socialize when she wanted, or just stay in her room if that is what she chose to do. We enjoyed the fact that we knew she was safe and should a problem arise staff was there to care for her needs. It was particularly nice to know that while she had a kitchen unit the stove could be turned off while she was alone, but back on while we visited. Prior to grandmother's passing the Arbor arraigned for everything from a pastor coming to a grief counselor for us. I cannot say enough about how much we loved this facility and would recommend it to anyone with a loved one needing extra care.
