My mother was at The Watermark at Broadway Cityview for three months. In comparison to other facilities, it's pretty nice. They seemed to be a bit more attentive than other facilities. The staff was pretty good. With the COVID thing, you get different people almost every day you go. Some of them were better than others. Some of them don't care. It's hard because the staff was not consistent there. She had a basic room, and it had a TV, a phone, a bed, a bathroom, dressers where you can put your stuff, and closets. I never went to the dining room. The atmosphere was very friendly. I would pass other residents and they would be in the hallway talking. It's a very nice environment.

My mother has been at The Watermark at Broadway Cityview. It's an awesome facility. It's excellent nursing care so far. The directors keep me up-to-date on everything that's going on. She's in skilled nursing, but they have assisted living there too, and other homes and stuff on the property for people that maintain an apartment. It's very neat, very clean, and very homey. We feel very comfortable being in there. Everything looks pretty up-to-date. They're quick to respond to any needs that she has. They work with her diet because she is diabetic, and they are giving her the appropriate seizure medications. We're very happy where she's at right now. We are hoping that she'll be able to come home, but that's where they sent her after they released her acutely.
They have various events that go on in the main room, like a game room area, and they have movies or things like that. They also set up TV and cable in each of their rooms for those that aren't able to go and join everybody else. She loves the food. She said it's been very flavorful and there's a lot of selections. When I was there yesterday, she had three different entree selections for each meal. She had several salad options as well as vegetable options. She even had dessert options, which is really surprising to me because a lot of places don't offer that. It's a very, very nice facility. With the other ones we've been to, this has by far been the best one that she's been at, and she's been in and out of rehab. She's a very picky eater, so for her to say that it's good and it's flavorful, that's something.
They've just been wonderful. She's not had to wait hardly any time at all to get assistance when it's needed. She's needed assistance with having to use the facilities in the bed because she just recovered from three fractures in her ankle. She can't even get out of bed by herself to get to a bedside toilet, but they've already started working with her and transferring back and forth to the wheelchair, doing upper body exercising while she's sitting in the chair, as well as sitting in the bed. They have given her some bands to work her arms and her strength and such.
Everyone has been friendly and helpful. They made sure that we had a place to sit down because there was only one chair in the room. They told us while we're in the room with her, we don't have to wear a mask, but when somebody else comes in the room, we need to put them on. They asked us if we wanted anything to drink while we were there, if there's anything we needed, or if we had any questions or anything. They're very attentive. I was very, very impressed.
The facility is very, very nice. The temperature is fantabulous through the whole facility. It's very clean and kept up well. The carpeting has been taken good care of, and they've even done some renovations in some areas of it. My mom's in a private room. She was excited about all the food options. She said they got a chef's salad there. When they brought her lunch, it was a beef noodle entree that had broccoli and corn. She had a small side salad and a small butterscotch pudding. Everything's in really nice containers. The food was steaming hot when they took the lid off, and this was like 12:15. She had decaf tea and they gave her a little container, and she had her choice if she wanted a sweetener. It looked very appealing. They made sure that it didn't just look like you're getting hospital food. It had good color to it.
I've been very happy with how they check in. There's a guard at the gate before you can even get into the area because it is a gated community. When you get to the facility, you have to check in electronically. It actually takes your picture and your temperature. You get a sticker that prints out your name and such on it and as to which room you're going to. I like the extra security of that also.

My husband was a patient during Covid restrictions. Was not able to see him - however had to meet him for a doctor's appointment. His nails were 2 inches long, filled with dirt, his beard had not been trimmed and he was dressed in dirty clothes. The doc and office staff wanted me to report his condition to the State. I am an RN and the nursing care was terrible - when I asked about his nails - was told by nursing staff 'we don't do nail care'. Needless to say I requested his immediate discharge brought him home only to have him pass away 30 hours later. This facility has owed me a refund of $2300 for 8 months - they don't respond to letters, emails or calls. Please if you care about your loved one -do NOT select this facility.
