I toured Brookdale Champion Oaks. The building itself is very old. It doesn't give off the greatest feel. Other than that, it seems fine. It's just the building is a little bit off-putting. I just talked to a marketing lady, and she's nice. There are no sinks or refrigerators in the rooms. That's probably one of the biggest downsides. They have a courtyard. In terms of location, it's near hospitals and shopping.

My mom moved into Brookdale Champion Oaks. It's assisted living and we like that they have an outside garden area she can go to. It has a lot of shady oaks and they encourage gardening and planting tomatoes. It has all the activities, she's already got out of her room and played Bingo. They have a walking trail around the building, they have all the garden area inside or they can go and they have the squirrels and the birds. You can hang up your bird feeders and plant. There are no amenities like a swimming pool. This is not for somebody that can go swimming. Once a week, they do have the beauty salon open and a Bible reading or chapel area. We're still going through the adjustment period of when she gets her shower and when they do laundry because they do the laundry. They do the housekeeping once a week. We're still working on getting the kinks out and who to talk to for the different things going on. I'm sure it's all going to be fine, but we're going through that new period where we're still learning. I sat down and had a meal with her and it was very good. The facility is a little bit old but it's still pretty clean.

My dad had moved into Brookdale Champion Oaks. I love that the employees are friendly and professional. The facility is beautiful and clean. Everybody there seemed happy. He is in assisted living, and his bedroom is very nice. He has a roommate, but the room is spacious. It's perfect. The facility is clean. It's well organized. It's very professional and has very friendly staff. It's everything I wanted for my dad.

Brookdale Champion Oaks was great. The rooms were average. They provide games and bridge, and they take the residents out for sightings. They offer three full meals.

I did not like Brookdale Champion Oaks because it seemed more like a nursing home. It seemed more institutionalized and a little less personalized. When I walked up, I saw a wrapped-up hose, and I thought my mother would trip when she walked there. It needs a little work, and the paint was peeling. I didn't like the location across the street from an apartment complex, and down the road, there was a pile of junk. The price was good, but it wasn't what I was looking for.

Brookdale Champion Oaks was nice. I had a nice tour with them. The place was very nice, clean, and cheerful. I met the assistant manager, the dietitian, and the physical therapist. Everybody was so nice to me. They showed me all the rooms; some were single and some were shared rooms. The rooms were very nice. I saw their menu and they had very nice, balanced diet.

Brookdale is nice, and it was the cheapest one that we find. The place is very nice. The people are helpful. Everyone there is friendly. I have no complaints about it at all. It is very clean, smells good, and is well-kept. It is very easy to navigate. My brother is in a semi-private room, and it very nice. It is not a small room. It is big enough for both of them. They have different activities. They have a private dining room that is very nice. I have nothing bad to say about it at all.

We took my mother over to Champion Oaks. It was a nice facility, but I didn't find it as homey. It's built kind of in a square. She had psychosis dementia, and they had to ask her to leave because she was wandering off the premises. The rooms were nice and roomy enough. To get the lower price, mother had a roommate. That caused some problems because mother was getting psychosis, and she would think this lady was stealing from her, but at times the lady was stealing from her and hiding it. The personnel were OK, but I did not feel like they were as caring and loving, or knowledgeable and friendly. It was a beautiful facility. The food was good. They served breakfast, lunch, and supper, but you didn't get a choice to pick. They did have an option where you can have a sandwich. They had a nice library. The facility didn't have a chapel, and there were no fireplaces in this place. It was a VA place, it had quite a few men, and mother liked that. Mother had in her head that she was going to hook up with some man there. She had a nice time when she was there.

One of the agencies I called was here. I like the facility a lot, it's just that they wouldn't accept my brother because at that time, he needed a lot of help. The staff who took me on a tour was excellent; they were really good. I really wanted my brother to go to that place. Their rooms were really good and I like their walk-in showers. I also like their dining rom. I was able to see their menu and it looked good.
