My mother is staying at The Village at Providence Park. She has been there for a long time. It is sort of opened up now. They have been changing the rules and things have been improving. They had residents on lockdown like everybody else. She is in assisted living now, but she was in independent living. You could visit as long as your loved one is in independent living. They were not allowing any visitation in the assisted living side, but they have since loosened up. She likes it there. I was able to dine before Covid and the food was good. They have a very nice facility. I know they have alot of activities. They take them out places and they have a recreation center.

I was very impressed that The Village was really big. It was like living in a big high rise in New York City. The only thing I didn't like about it was it was a little bit impersonal. Otherwise, it was very nice as far as size of the apartments. The staff were friendly. They did have desks like a nursing station type thing on each floor. They had communal dining. They had transportation to and from outside activities like shopping and doctors' appointments. They had book clubs, guest speakers come in, and very good social activities. They all seemed to be very attuned to the residents' needs.

The independent living area rooms were very nice. His apartment had two bedrooms and a separate living area with a small kitchenette. The apartment was unfurnished which allowed him to keep most of his funiture and belongings. The staff were very helpful and responded to the call buttons located in every room and bathroom. He enjoyed the meals and the facility provided many activities for his entertainment including special holiday family meals. The staff were also very helpful whenever he wanted to move his stuff around or switch his computer from one wall to the other wall. Whenever he had medical issues or fell, they promptly attended to him until an ambulance arrive to transport him to the hospital. The rooms themselves were quite large and hard high vaulted ceilings - much nicer than anything I had imagined. The kitchenette was fairly small, but it still had room for a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, and a small electric burner. The appearance of the facility was very nice and included elegant wood trim, light blue painted walls, and didn't really look or smell like a typical nursing home.
