My friend was at Ridgecrest Retirement and Healthcare. I had some complaints about them when my friend was there when she got sick. They had the flu there whenever I put her there when I was going to have surgery. She caught the flu and pneumonia there. This was Christmas Eve. Monica, who is over at the admissions, is a very fine person. She helped get my friend to the hospital and took care of the problem that we had with the staff. So that's the only complaint that I had with them as far as that. Their food is really good, too.
They have good activities for the people. They had bingo, which my friend enjoyed. They have other activities like music. One thing that means a lot to my friend is that they have a courtyard and they had three resident cats there. That means a lot to my friend because she's a cat lover, and they have that available for them. They seem to be more available to help you if you have a problem. In talking to the ones in charge, they will try to help you.

My mother was kicked out or Ridgecrest with only a couple hours notice. Many of her clothing items, including shoes, were never returned to us.

My mother was in the skilled nursing section of Ridgecrest for about 14 months. She was very well taken care of and was quite happy there. The facility is somewhat dated, but generally very clean. We experienced none of the problems typically associated with these facilities. None of these facilities are perfect but I would put Ridgecrest in the top 10% of the ones I have visited.
The most important thing I can say is that my mother was loved and appreciated there.
