About This Community
Villages on MacArthur offers compassionate and personal skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to seniors in the Irving area. Our skilled nursing facility provides both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the highest standards. We are committed to providing individualized care of excellent quality with outstanding results.

Skilled nursing is a residential alternative to a nursing home, which provides custodial care that includes getting in and out of bed, and providing assistance with feeding, bathing and dressing. This living option differs from our other levels of care in that we provide the highest level of medical attention and care. A physician over sees the patient's care a skilled nurse is always on the premises and available 24-hours a day.

In addition to long-term skilled nursing care, we also provide short term rehabilitation care after a surgery or traumatic medical experience, such as a stroke or heart attack. Due to these medical conditions a person may need more care and attention and we can provide all of the necessary medical treatments. Let us help you or your loved one heal in a warm and comforting environment.

Our skilled nursing program is committed to empowering each resident through individualized programs to reach goals of increased independence. We provide as much autonomy as possible within an environment that nurtures and supports. Our specialized staff offers physical, speech, and occupational therapies, wound and IV care, and much more. Our focus is to create a warm and inviting skilled nursing facility in which patients will thrive and heal. Residents' days are filled with comfort, independence and meaning as they work towards recovery.

I have ALS, and I needed somewhere where I had skilled nursing care. The Villages on MacArthur is a brand new facility; it has only been opened thirteen months. It is a very nice facility, and it does have some growing pains, but these are minor. The food is hot and it is nutritional food so having run some catering services, I do find, sometimes, it is not what I would do. But it is still good food, and if you have a problem or anything, they try to accommodate you. They accommodate an alternate menu. One of the things that I found that was really remarkable was we have a lady whose family brought her over from France and, being French, she had wine with every meal. So they had the family bring the wine, and she gets a glass with her meals every night. All of the doors have alarms on them, so you can't just walk out, and nobody can just walk in without setting off the alarm at the outside doors except for the front door, and there they buzz you in. It is all on one floor, so you don't have to use an elevator or stairs, and it is huge. There is a courtyard in the very center. In fact, I found out that there are two courtyards, and you can go out there and sit and do whatever. And I noticed that there is a barbecue pit out there, so that means that they do have outside barbecues. They have activities every day. One of the ones that we had recently was the residents made fruit salad. One thing they need to improve -- which is not really their fault -- is getting more help or getting more CNAs, and this seems to be a problem in the whole Dallas area. They still have some growing pains and different things to get out, but they are working at it.

I thought Villages on MacArthur was good on my first visit. It is brand new and very clean. There are only five residents. The staff is friendly. For the most part, they have been very helpful. The rooms and dining room are good. My parents have been there for almost two months now. All the places I visited all looked very nice; however, the deciding feature was that Villages on MacArthur only has five residents, so it is relatively small, and comparatively, the price is probably the best.
