About This Community

Avalon Memory Care has gone to great lengths to provide a mode of care that is uniquely tailored to the special needs of the Alzheimer’s victim. We are concerned with every phase of the resident’s needs (physical, emotional, and social). We work to restore and support the resident’s self esteem, dignity, and the resumption of as many of the daily personal tasks of which the resident is capable. Surrounded by family treasures and memories, the residents live in the comfort and privacy of their own rooms in a spacious, ranch style, one level home with built-in security features such as a secured patio and roomy backyard. They bond with and enjoy the companionship of other residents and inevitably form a “family feeling” that eliminates the loneliness or isolation often experienced in institutional settings. They enjoy luxury accommodations including exquisite furnishings in these fine homes.

We provide professional and sensitive care for the physical, emotional, mental, and social needs of our residents. Our care focuses on the safety and well-being of our residents, 24-hours a day. We have many excellent referrals and are licensed by the State of Texas as a small/large Class B Assisted Living with Alzheimer and Related Disorders certification.

I toured the memory care of Avalon Memory Care in Edinburg, and it was nice. Everything was very clean and orderly. The staff was very friendly. Everyone was engaged and doing something with the patients. They were paying very good attention to them. The rooms I saw were very nice too, and the facility was very modern.

Avalon Memory Care - Edinburg is lovely. It's very clean. The people seemed happy, and it's a beautiful facility. They have a lot of help. There were people watching TV in the living room area, very homey, and I felt very safe there too. They have a really good program with things locked up and down, because of someone escaping. They like to do that. They did have activities for them. They had an activities director, they had training, and they had exercise classes, just different activities depending on the level of the patients. The owner did the tour with us, and then his wife is the administrator, and RN, and they were very, very good. I liked the help we saw. Everyone looked nice and smiling, they spoke to all the people, and they would smile and speak. It just felt relaxed, like things were going smoothly. The way the kitchen was set up, it looked nice, and some of them were getting snacks, and they looked happy.

Avalon Memory Care - Edinburg seems to be very nice, and my mother-in-law loves it. Because of COVID-19 we were not allowed to visit, but we did a virtual tour, and when we arrived we were able to look in the windows from the outside. The place is very clean, we saw the rooms, kitchen, a laundry facility, and everything else through a window. The apartment was great and very well set up. The residents get three meals a day plus snacks. I think it's just a great place.

My husband is in Avalon Memory Care - Edinburg right now. It's an all memory care community. The staff is great, I have been over there almost every day. The food is great, the caretakers are great, and the nurses are great. I can't say anything bad about this community, it's perfect. His apartment has a huge TV, huge bathroom and shower, he has closet space, dresser, nightstand, a ceiling fan, windows, and it has hardwood floors. It's beautiful. The food is excellent and the dining room is beautiful, you can eat at one part of the dining room or be off to a group by yourselves or you can eat while watching TV. They play games with the residents and take them for walks, they're just fabulous.
