They will tell you anything to get you in here. None or very little of it will actually happen. My mom was bored to death. The activities are not geared to the memory impaired even though that is the case with most of the residents. I was told I would be upped on points they use to calculate care levels for them having to tell my mom what day it is more than once. What? I have to pay for the staff to talk to my mom? The food is inedible. Many of the residents complained of this. Sheets were never changed though I complained of this continually. The cost of the room and board went up 20% in the 18 months she was there. Her level of care went up regularly without the promised sit down meeting I was told would happen before any increase. I would never recommend putting a loved one here. I finally ended up moving my mom which I did not want to do. It was very confusing for her. But her new facility is a night and day difference.

We have chosen Wildflower Place. We have already signed some paperwork and had given them a check, so hopefully, we will get my mother-in-law there next week. We chose them because they were the only facility that included a nurse in the admissions process. I met with the executive director as well as the nurse to devise a treatment plan for my mother-in-law. The other facilities were great and they were nice, but it was more of a tour of the facility, whereas Wildflower Place, gave a tour of the facility and proposed a treatment plan for my mother-in-law gaining her strength back. The rooms are nice. They're a little more dated than the other facility. They completed their renovations of the overall facility, not necessarily the rooms, but the main areas and the hallways, they just completed a renovation in November. It's a beautiful facility. The rooms are older, but they're very nice and very clean. We did not try the food, but the dining area was a common area and for vaccinated patients, they can sit four to a table, and some of the other places were making them social distance of six feet regardless of if they had vaccinations or not. So, I like the ability for her to be able to sit with the community while dining. They have a library. A lady was reading some books in the library which they're allowed to go to, or they can take the books back to the room. They had bingo going, and there were some residents playing bingo. They had an open courtyard. The weather here was chilly yesterday, but they had a nice courtyard with nice seating. I took a tour with the executive director, and she's very young, energetic, and very knowledgeable. She was very straightforward with the finances which I appreciated. There was no hidden cost. There is a discount on the community fee. She was nice. I was very impressed. The nurse, her name was Rachel, was the most knowledgeable, and she came recommended from another place that we tried to put my mother-in-law, she just needed more care than what they could offer her, and so they had already recommended that I meet Rachel. She was included in the interview on the admissions process. Probably the main selling point is that she came up with a treatment plan immediately and financial assistance as far as getting Medicare involved and home health, and I just really appreciated that.

I visited Wildflower House. They were very kind and good. They were very fine, but of course they were trying to sell us on having my mom stay there. She took us on the tour of the facility and showed the possible room that my mother could be getting. They offered the dining option if we would like to have something to drink in the dining area. They have a sign up that said welcome to my mom's name, so they were really welcoming. I would say overall they were fairly nice. Some of the people were like complaining about them though. The residents were saying "don't stay here," "this place is not what it seems" and things like that. The rooms were not big; they were medium size and clean. They had a room, and it looked like they have things for them to paste and make crafts. It looked like sort of a day care type of activities. They had locked doors that were on either end of the units, but the residents could still leave from those exits. They have an alarm system that would go off when they would leave. They should improve the activities for the people. I think they need activities that are more appropriate for adults. They are clean, and the people are nice. It is in a fairly good spot. They have a nice atrium were they can go sit outside and enjoy some of the daytime. They are not stuck indoors, and they are not near a fast moving street. It is more of a residential facility in the middle of a residential area.

My mother is in Wildflower House, and it is horrible. I am taking her out of there. The dining area looks pretty, but the food is inedible. She cannot eat it, and she lost 4 pounds since she has been there. The staff is rude and mean. It is just awful. The room she is in right now has efficient space, and it has a little sink, refrigerator, and microwave. It has a nice bathroom with a nice big shower. They have activities, but I am buying all the prizes because the residents do not want to participate in them. They are like children, and they like to be rewarded when they win. They have like bingo and dominoes, and they have no prizes. So I donated over $200 worth of prizes so they will want to participate. They said they were not giving them anything.

I thought Wildflower House was very nice. The people there were very compassionate, and we were very happy. The rooms were great, and they had two kinds of rooms. One was just a room, and the other one had two rooms with a living room and a bedroom. We chose one room for my mommy and daddy, which would have been perfect if it was for just one of them, but the two of them tried to live in that room, so it was a little crowded. Otherwise, the room was nice and excellent. The bathroom and the little kitchenette were great. I tried the food, and it was good. What I liked best was the caring management and staff.

This is a fantastic facility! Smaller community, great staff, residents are very happy. My mother is moving into the facility this week and she can not wait!
