My mother-in-law is at The Watermark at Southpark Meadows. One of the things we love is that she's able to do a lot more activities. They take them out on trips, not only to shopping trips like H-E-B and Nordstrom but also out to the Hill Country, so she's reclaimed a vitality that she didn't have when she was living on her own. The staff members are incredibly supportive and friendly. I think, maybe being younger, she ended up with more friends on the staff. She is from a hospitality background, so she's very comfortable with what happens behind the scenes. She also loves the chefs; they talk about food. The staff has been incredibly respectful. They allow small dogs, which has been excellent. They have a small dog park area for everyone to go out at. They have scheduled activities pretty much every day. There are lots of PT and activities geared towards older individuals like balloon volleyball, which is fantastic. They have an onsite doctor who comes once a week. He seems to be very available, so we don't have to worry about her medications as much and just checking in to make sure that everything's okay. The residents kind of put together a Sunday service, too. She is religious, so it's nice for her to have other people around her whom she can do some basic Bible study and just build community as well. The only drawback is that it is a very expensive community. It's sad to see that it costs so much for some basic level. It's not that the place is particularly overcharging, but it costs so much to have these amenities for our seniors. And their raise this year was a lot, too.

I live in a studio for such a small space it is very nice. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about ALL the staff. There are many activities to chose from each day. There are not the amenities that one will find at an independent living for 55 and over. However, we have a very nice fitness room, media room, activities room, etc. No pool.

Although the decor is nice and fresh, and the building modern, the dining area warm and inviting, I’m a lot more impressed by the capable, friendly and stable management and staff that has been taking care of my parents for the past two+ years. trust me that these caregivers and staff are the best ; a group of well trained caregivers, medtechs & nursing staff who are consistently able to be responsive to my parents needs and provided lots of ideas to work out their specific elder issues. I’d say they are more than tolerant of our concerns and feedback especially through the pandemic and beyond. Specifically, my parents did not get Covid nor were they exposed to covid. I think the Watermark has an excellent communications oriented culture that has helped our family to navigate the hardships of having parents with sometimes complicated wellness issues and also during and post pandemic. The Watermark maybe at first glance seems to have similar amenities than other assisted living places but there is an extra layer of attentiveness that I value so much, a wonderful Director; accessible, personable, very experienced —-a really great activities director akways enthusiastically including my couch potato parents to participate and I also love the restaurant staff and friendly atmosphere. My parents love the happy hours and activities and friendships they have made. My brothers and I sure appreciate the staff working with our tag team approach to parental caregiving

Since COVID19 -Not Sure what goes on inside. Can't go inside. Patio reservations are available. Mom's been here several years. Luckily she has a daycare worker come in. My Brothers see her on patio Every Sunday. I Drove 200 miles to see her on Sunday. Even though it was not reserved or occupied, they would not let my brother and me visit. BAD MANAGEMENT. They keep changing rules. AVOID THIS PLACE. Managers don't last long.

My mom is in the assisted living at Elan Southpark Meadows. My overall impression is that it is decent. It is a little less than what I expected. We were promised a lot of bright, shiny things when I was looking around. There was a push to get us to sign up before the end of the month because they had some type of special going on, which was good. There were a few things that we were told we could do, but once we signed on the dotted lines, those things were taken away. Now a short time later we are finding out that Elan has been bought out by another company. The new ownership will be coming in the next week. There have been some people that have been let go and there has been some turnover, which is a little concerning. The staff members were nice people, but they missed bringing my mom's meals to her on several occasions. It is a nice place and the people are nice, however, they haven't lived up to everything they promised. My mom is not really able to go out and participate in any of the activities. However, they seem to have a lot of activities, and that's what they do very well. The food looks good, too. I would give the administrative staff a three, and I would give the helpers four, but I would give them an overall four for the staff. The place is very nice and clean.
