The Rutherford Assisted Living appeared to be very nice. It was clean and the people were also pretty nice and very friendly. They showed me the one-bedroom, the dining hall, and a room where they all gather to watch television or do activities and stuff like that. There were a couple of residents who were watching television and some were playing checkers. They had benches and stuff outside for the residents to sit on, and it seemed to be well-maintained. It was a nice place.

Bad place to be stuck in. The RA's are often nice but they last only a couple of weeks and don't get training. Some only stay a day or two. They complain the pay is terrible and they are forced to work too many hours without enough staff. This place is expensive and the care is spotty at best. You have to wait a long time to get care and they often forget about you because they are understaffed. The Air conditioners are always breaking and house cleaning does a mediocre job. Patients wander around the halls looking for staff. Consider yourself warned.

I was at The Rutherford Assisted Living this afternoon. I liked it better because it was a little bit bigger than the other place. It was probably within one mile of my sister, the location was better, and the room was laid out better. The staff member was very nice, made sure all my questions were answered, and I could tell that she interacted with the residents very well. She interacted with a few of them, she knew exactly who they were, what room they were in, and what their interests were. She pointed out to me that if I took this one particular apartment, one gentleman would be my neighbor, and she pointed that our 'cause he has a cat, and I have a cat. We did go into the dining area, and it was very neat and very clean. I got a vibe from a couple of the residents that the food must be very good. They were doing some sort of activity, they were sitting at a table. I'm not sure what they were doing, but the activities director was being very creative in coming up with some ideas.

A housekeeper had her child there all day and apparently does this fairly often. This is a major HIPPA violation and grave concern. How can this facility allow a daycare to be here?

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to do. My Mom has dementia, and she needed additional care. I looked around and checked out other facilities in my area and so many things made Sunnington my place for Mom. She has really adjusted well and is enjoying everything. She loves the food, the staff, and the fact that everything is taken care of for her has made her more relaxed. She is really happy and proud to live there. When her old neighbors or any family comes to visit; she loves to show them around. I can't thank you enough for your help when I really needed someone to talk to and guide me in the right direction. My prayers are with all the families that will be going through this same process.

Very disappointed with the way this building has deteriorated. My family member has lived there for some time and for the most part we're pretty pleased. That is up until management changed and the wonderful administrator we had for years left. Since then everything thing has declined. The building is always dirty, the air conditioning rarely works, which is completely unacceptable when you have elderly people who have trouble breathing. They staff turnover has gotten to be ridiculous and I never know who I am talking to. Whenever I have a question no one knows the answer. We are paying a lot of money and not receiving the care we should be. The caregivers are always talking about not having enough help and are very open with telling us it's because they aren't paid enough and management treats them poorly. This is very disheartening because there really were some great gals that worked there and are now gone. We pay enough money to afford these works a livable wage. Sadly we are making arrangements for relocating our family member. A while ago I would have recommended this place, but in all honesty today I would not.

Sunnington was very well run. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartments were nice, but they did not have kitchens because it was an assisted living primarily, and they did not want residents cooking, which I could understand. The dining area and the hallways were really nice. They even had like a little meeting room where they had ice cream that you could help yourself to. Then they had a thing set out on the table with little snack like bag of chips and stuff like that so if you got hungry between meals, you could go there and get a bag of chips and something to drink. That was nice. They had a little place outside, a patio and there was a little walk around it. It was pretty nice. It was near the university here in town. It was nice. It was close to grocery stores and some restaurants. It would be very nice if they could afford it because it was expensive, but the nicer the facility, the more it was going to cost of course.

We loved having my grandmother in Sunnington for the 1st year or so, then they started slacking on her care. They were not notifying us when she was ill or had fallen. And was not checking up on her as they were suppose too. And I know someone who walked straight in at 4 am and the doors were unlock and walked all over looking for staff and finally went into the kitchen to find someone. Many residents have dementia/sun downers and the door is supposed to be locked at night and we are supposed to buzzed in. How scary is that! That my grandmother who has sun downers could have walked straight out and no one would have know. And she fell several weeks ago and broke arm and has has to have surgery and now in rehabilitation and they are implying they are don't want her to come back. Keep trying to have us pull her out. And we asked if she could be moved to the memory care since she has Alzhiemers and they are saying she doesn't qualify do to her not being mobile and that is not true. She walks with a cane at rehab and is actually more mobile now than she was before. Very unhappy! And very tempted call Better Business Bureau and let them know what has happened. They are just trying to cover there butts since we have been complaining. We have been documenting everything. Will post this on every review site.

I was at Sunnington Senior Care for four months, and it's a great place with caring people. The rooms were good, and they kept them really clean. They did the laundry and cleaning services.

The staff were friendly and the patrons seemed to be well cared for and for the most part happy. It is a lovely building although the individual living quarters are small and more like hospital rooms for the most part. I was involved in helping with entertainment activities for the seniors living there, and many actively participated.

This is a great facility with a professional staff and clean environment. I have personally toured the facility and the employees of the facility are well mannered and actually care about the health of the senior occupants. My family member who resided here found it very easy to get together with people who she identified with and grew close to many of the members. Food is awful looking, mushy greasy, and nothing fresh. I tasted it. The housing conditions were nice and cozy; they were equipped with numerous safety features which were an important factor in her decision to live there. Each resident has their own apartment with toilet facilities. They can set up their living space how they wish with furniture and decorations. Many of the apartments there have accesses to and outside patio area with trees and flowers. This Assisted Living also provided residents with field trips to local stores as well as sight seeing such as nature areas. Of course these are all optional and no one is forced to go. Workers there provided as much support as needed and are flexible how they help people. For the most part they seem to let the residents do their own thing, only assisting if needed. Overall, it is a good place.

When you walk into Sunnington Assisted Living, you feel like you are visiting a 5 Star Hotel! The atmosphere is warm and inviting to its residents as well as all visitors. Everyone who works at Sunnington seems to be very happy, and that means alot. I visited many places before choosing Sunning for my loved one. I truly enjoy every visit due to the wonderful loving staff. The employees go way beyond what is expected of them. They truly love the residents and will do anything to help family members feel like family and part of their team. The diatary department gets five stars also! The residents have many daily activities to choose from and are encouraged to attend. The activity director is wonderful! I tell everyone about how wonderful Sunning Assisted Living is.
