My sister loved it in Settlers Park Assisted Living & Memory Care. We were not allowed in, but when we moved her in they allowed us in to help her unpack. She can come out, and she has a car so she can visit us. They've had no COVID; they're very cautious. She really is happy there. They were the only place that really had a nurse that was able to do insulin care all the time, so it was the best place for her. My sister said the staff is really good. When we were moving her in, the maintenance supervisor really came in on a Sunday to be there to oversee and help with anything. So they were just really good. I didn't really see anything that I would complain about. It was clean, and they immediately brought her over the thing to hang around her neck to call for help. They've stopped in a few times to explain to her the dinner situation, and the residents were nice. To have any kind of pet, the deposit is only $200. She was missing a shelf in her closet and asked the supervisor of maintenance if we could get another shelf. She said that when they built this place they were only gonna put one shelf, but she found another one. No visitors are allowed in the dining hall at all. It is kind of old, but it seems they keep things up quite nicely. We were impressed with it, we talk to our sister all the time, and she's as happy as can be. She's paying $1,000-1,500 less than her previous facility.

My mother was at Settler's Park. They seemed very nice. She liked them. However, all of their food was canned and frozen. My mom didn't like it at all. It was not served well, too. They would say they were having one thing on the menu that looked really good, but then what they served them wasn't the same thing. When they complained about it, there was no improvement seen. My mom actually lost about 100 pounds while she was there, which was not a bad thing because she needed to lose weight, but she definitely wasn't eating the food that they prepared. My mom had a small one-bedroom apartment, which was very nice and adequate. I saw puzzle tables, piano, and TVs, but their activity wasn't as extensive. The place was cheaper but my mom didn't like it. The dining area was nice enough and pleasant. The staff was good, but the food was not.

Settler's Park is clean. The staff is attentive. The residents are happy. The amenities are everything that the residents would need. They are able to leave on their own if they need to, and they could come and go if they want to. They have activities that are directed to each resident's needs. Also, the food is good.
