This was the perfect choice for my mom. The facility is all on one floor which makes walking relatively easy to access craft sessions and meals. If mom is not feeling up to the walk, her meal is delivered to her in her room. The staff is warm and caring, dedicated to giving the best medical and personal care possible. Mom's room, a studio, is just the right size for her and her cat. There also is an on-site beauty salon providing once a week hair care for the residents. Residence of Chardon has lots of heart and it shows.

My mom's little apartment at The Residence of Chardon is bigger than the other communities we're aware of for the price range they offered us. As far as the facility goes, it's excellent, as well as the amenities. They have a nice dining room and they have lots of activities. Every time I go in, they're always doing something with the residents. It's clean. When they switch people, they paint and clean the whole thing up, which is nice. They're a little bit shorter on staff, but overall the staff is good. They do coloring, play cards, and do several different things. On the other side, it's like an open square with a courtyard in the middle while the other side of the building has a bunch of separate tables in a little area. That's a fairly big area where they can put puzzles together or do more individual things. There was a group of ladies watching a church service on the television, too.

The Residence of Chardon was beautiful. We were very pleased. The staff was excellent, very helpful, very knowledgeable, and provided all the information professionally. We were convinced that it was going to be an excellent facility for our needs. They showed us the kitchen but did not provide any food at that time. It was immaculate. The layout was manageable because all of the activity rooms, the cafeteria, the dining room, the library, were all centrally located. We liked it also because they only had 40 or 50 residents there.

I thought that The Residence of Chardon was great, and the experience was very good. I really like their facility and how each resident has their own individual room and their own individual bathroom. It was quiet, it was clean, and I thought it was very nice. I didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff, but the nurse showed us around and was willing to answer any question.

The low rating is chiefly due to the instability of the administration. The Residence of Chardon is on its third administrator in less than a year. We had problems with what the first administrator told us the costs would be. The third (temporary) administrator is charging us for a month after they told our mom they couldn't handle her needs after her fall and hip replacement. If you could get past the money and turnover and contradictory supervisor statements, it wouldn't have been a bad place. But they are not trustworthy with money.

I visited the Residence of Chardon, and I wasn't very impressed with it. The staff was fine. They seemed to have all the amenities, but they didn't have quite the atmosphere.

The Residence of Chardon looks very much like a home. It does not look like a hospital at all. There's carpeting and furniture. It is in a square, and there are only 40 units. It is very homey. I am very impressed with this place. There is a lot of turnover with staff, but I think their competency is great. When I was with my dad, they really worked with me and tried to do what they could. They really worked with me to keep him there and get things taken care of. I really don't have any complaints about the personnel; I think they're good. Food is fine. It is not gourmet, but it is fine. My dad is a picky eater, but he has gained a lot of weight since he has been there. Also they definitely keep them busy doing different activities that they can do. They take them out, the ones that can or the ones that want to. They definitely have activities there for them. My dad is in a private room. He has a little kitchenette area and a living space. It is all one room and a bedroom. He has a full handicap-sized bathroom. When he moved into this room, they put new carpeting, and they painted it. I would recommend this facility.

The Residence of Chardon was very nice and clean. The people were very nice and friendly too. The rooms were fairly large with a bedroom, a bathroom, and a living room. It seems very secure, and I would recommend the facility.

Residence of Chardon said they couldn't take my mom because of her condition and that they didn't go onto continuing care. It wasn't anything against the place, they were very nice, but they just couldn't handle my mother because of her having an amputation. The facility actually was very nice. It was located actually closer to where I live, which would have been ideal. They did have very nice rooms there. They seemed to be clean and of decent size; however, a little smaller than the one my mom has now. The staff was friendly. There seemed to be adequate of them around. The residents seemed cared for. I really like this facility and I would recommend this place if it would meet their needs.

I noticed an odor when I walked in the building. The staff were friendly and responsive to my questions. It was clean but the odor was a bit overwhelming.
