My mom is now at Thistle House Senior Assisted Living. It is small and intimate. You have almost one-on-one attention. It is more like being in a home than it is being in a facility. The staff members are very good. They have become like friends of the family. This is a very small community. There's only room for 16 people. This is the reason why I chose it. Plus the other thing that was a big selling point is that there is another couple living there that is the same nationality as my mother, so they are able to communicate. As my mother is going further into dementia, she is reverting back to her native language. They do all kinds of activities. They have a person that comes in and does massages, and that's all free. They have a person who comes in and does exercises everyday, so whoever wants to come can come. They have games all day long and they have a bowling night. Additionally, they're about $3,000 less a month than other places.
