The Inn at University Village is a pretty nice facility, my dad is doing well there and we're hoping that maybe in a month or two, he'll be able to go back to independent living. He moved into their assisted living a month ago now. It was a good experience, it wasn't great as there were hurdles to overcome and there are some inconsistencies in the communication in the administrative department there. I've had to step in and make sure things were taken care of the way they needed to be. The place is comfy and it's homey. There are different little areas for the residents to be able to be out of their room with TV and games. They have a little pub inside where the residents can have happy hours. Right now, with the Covid, we can't join them but if you're vaccinated, you can at least see your residents in their room. There's daily exercise and daily activities. I think they play bingo and cards. They have a chapel, movie nights and they have a big dining area that's just pretty. Overall, the place is just really pretty and it's comforting. My dad said the food is pretty good and that he gets options if there's something on the menu he doesn't like. You can get the typical hamburger, cheeseburger, or whatever. They have a little snack room so you can get ice cream whenever you want or a snack too. Between that and a happy hour, he said, it's pretty good. They do a lot of crafts for the community too. Every time I walk in, something is going on somewhere. One time, they had a big Mother's Day feast for an entire week. I'm assuming they're going to do that for Father's Day. Right now, we just aren't allowed to participate, families just can't participate in those things just yet. The staff is pretty accommodating. I've met the nurses and aides and I've even met the nurse practitioner. There are a few ladies that work there for housekeeping. I just can't remember their names but they are just amazing. They go beyond what they need to do, that makes me feel good. One of the things that people should probably note is that they do accept Medicaid because that was my biggest concern. I visited 10 facilities on my own and found only 2 that accepted Medicaid.

I’m happy with The Inn at University Village. It’s nice and clean. The staff is friendly and professional. The food is good, and the dining room is nice. They’d play bingo. They have karaoke. They have a bus, and they take them out to eat sometimes.

The Inn at University Village was a very nice place. I didn't quite like their philosophy. They've got some pretty stringent rules about how residents interact with each other, and I think it wouldn't be a good fit for my mom.

The Inn at University Village is like a resort. It's beautiful, and the price is reasonable compare to all the others we visited. My sister-in-law is in a beautiful room. She cannot walk, so she needs to pay a little bit more extra for assistance in getting her from bed to her wheelchair to the bathroom or to the cafeteria. However, like in any other facilities, sometimes she has to wait longer for the staff to respond to her call. That's the only downside. But she's doing fine right now.

This is a beautiful facility. It's very hard to get into, but there is a helpful staff and nursing on hand. There are televisions, private rooms, dinner/lunch at the same time every day, activities, and more. There is mini-golf, which is really helpful for those with arthritis that need to participate in an activity- it's only two holes. They have a beautiful drive-up area where you can pull up to pick up your relative. The gardens outside are lovely, with hand-painted rocks from children and a variety of flowering plants. There is ample seating, so every resident can have the chance to walk outside and enjoy the environment. Each resident is allowed to have a bird feeder or other little things outside their window, which makes it seem more like home. They have their own bathrooms, cable, a mini kitchen with fridge/microwave, and can have their own furniture and some even have small pets! The dining room is beautiful and is open to relatives. There is a grand piano in the center, and wait-staff serve dinner. There is a check-in/out book so you should always know where you relative is. Each section of the building is different. One is assisted living, while the other works with people who need around-the-clock care. The residents can mix, which helps them mingle and enjoy themselves. They have a fish tank with tropical fish, as well as a small cafe that features a popcorn machine, sink, and more.
