Windsor has done such a great job with my Dad who lives in their assisted living facility. We had been to another facility in Canton for a brief stay of a few month before Dad moved to Windsor. It seems that the admissions people at most facilities will tell you anything to get you in the door. Betsy at Windsor was very forthright with what we could expect. Windsor uses fully trained medical staff in their assisted living instead of the lower credentialed CNAs they have STNAs caring for Dad. Dad is a handful and the other facility was trying to move him to a nursing home level of care but Windsor was able to take him as an Assisted Living patient and we are so happy because it has really enabled him to live his best life.

I have my mother in Windsor’s assisted living and I’m very pleased. The rooms themselves are on the larger end of the spectrum while their common rooms are a bit smaller than other facilities. That being said they seem to have more of the community spaces than the competition and the building is always neat and clean compared to the others I visited in the community. The price seems higher but at the end of the day is on par or lower than what we were paying just down the street at a newer facility. The staff is excellent and attentive and mom likes the food so we’re very pleased and glad we chose to move here. The therapy options have really helped my mom and she likes that things are tailored to her needs and not a one size fits nine product like the last place.

Windsor is just great, it has lots of windows, and the hallways are very attractive and well-decorated. My friend lives there, she has two rooms, a little kitchenette, a huge closet for storage, and a nice bath with a walk-in shower. They had a bird feeder. The staff I met has been very pleasant. It's very attractive on the outside, and even more on the inside. My friend said the food is good.

The other facility we visited ended up being too pricey for us, so we went to check out the Windsor right down the road from there. It is an older facility and also very nice. We did not try the meals there. But the woman did mention that at the Windsor they do have medical staff like nurse's aides on duty 24/7 which I was impressed with. The room seemed about average as far as size wise. It is very clean also. They did have like an exercise/rehab physical therapy type area. But they didn't have all the exercise equipment that the other facility has.

I went with a friend to visit his family member. The facility was very nice looking but that is were anything positive ended. I have never seen such poor staffing. My friends mother needed something for a headache. We stopped a nurse in the hall and asked for assistance. She had the nerve to say it wasn't her job because she was the supervisor but would get someone else. 45 minutes later still no medication. Turns out the "supervisor" forgot and still passed the buck to another nurse. My friends family member said it has been happening more and more and will be moving them out to a new facility. I personally wouldn't let this place take care of my houseplant.

Windsor offers both independent and assisted living quarters, and the residents of each are permitted to mingle. There are many opportunities to do so. Aside from bingo and movie nights, which are to be expected, there is a "happy hour" at least once a week offering wine and a few hard liquors. The walnut paneled reading room boasts several hundred books, and many daily newspapers are available. The activities coordinator makes an effort to represent diverse religious faiths. For example, there is a weekly Friday evening shabbat for Jewish residents, something that many other facilities wouldn't think to organize. What I find remarkable about the staff is that it seems someone is always available. Food is delivered on time, residents get to their activities, and emergencies are handled promptly. Finally, all of the residents I've spoken to enjoy the food, which can make a stay even more pleasant.
