Description

About This Community

Carson Valley is different from the other assisted living and memory care communities in Nevada. That difference starts with these six words: Caring People. Serving People. Improving Lives.

Assisted Living:

We believe the key to a fulfilling life is having opportunities to make as many positive personal choices as possible. Working with team members, families, and medical providers we design personalized service plans to meet your unique needs and interests.

For some, assistance is a helping hand getting dressed in the morning. For others, it’s a daily reminder to take medication. When experienced in a warm, caring and supportive community, this autonomy creates a sense of well-being. And, knowing we’re here to provide assistance 24-hours a day, seven days a week offers security and peace of mind for you and your family.

Older adults living in a community experience an improved quality of life, according to studies. We designed Carson Valley Senior Living with your health and happiness in mind, and a commitment to helping you remain active physically, socially and mentally.

Carson Valley Senior Living offers convenient amenities and services, including:

  • 3 Chef-prepared Meals Daily

Memory Care:

Our memory care neighborhood is intimate, comfortable, and securely located within our assisted living community. A compassionate team of caregivers trained to meet the special needs of those with cognitive impairments works with physicians and families to provide exceptional, personalized care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

A focus on routine, along with consistent life-enriching programming, is important for residents with dementia. At Carson Valley, residents benefit from music, art, and pet therapy, indoor/outdoor physical activities, gardening, and one-on-one and small group engagement.

Whenever possible, we integrate assisted living and memory care activities; this helps build community connections and creates a stronger sense of purpose, accomplishment, and value. Life stations situated throughout the neighborhood keep residents engaged with familiar, everyday tasks.

Carson Valley Senior Living did not have availability, but it was very nice. It was assisted living, and the one I saw was just an empty room. It's just a room and a bathroom. They had a courtyard. I didn't go out there and look at it, but I saw green grass. We were looking for a place that would accept dogs, and they did accept little dogs. The person during the tour was very nice, outgoing, and informative.

I saw Carson Valley Senior Living two days ago, and I liked it a lot. I liked the friendliness of it. I liked the small-town nature of it. I liked the fact that there's room for walking outdoors there, and one of the best features is the beautiful view of Jobs peak. The staff, Rosa, is very knowledgeable, very competent, and very helpful. She took all the time I needed. It's just really good. I toured the main parts of it: the dining room, reception rooms, and the veranda. I found them all acceptable.

I toured Carson Valley Senior Living. It's super nice. It's nice. It's always clean and the people are happy there. The families are happy with the staff. They like the food. They have a room there for watching TV, they're talking and visiting family and making puzzles and stuff. I like it because it's a small community, so you know pretty much a lot of people and just word of mouth knowing that they take good care of their clients that they're safe there.

Carson Valley Senior Living was a small, very cozy, friendly, and quiet place. The person who showed me around was very nice. It's not able to provide as much activities because it's smaller, but it's like a private home and very peaceful. It's single level, so it's easier for people to get around. It's a new place, and the studios were adequate, nice, and very clean. The dining area was nice, and there was music when I was there. They had crafts, games, and bingo. It had a beautiful view of the mountains, nice gardens, and a very nice courtyard. Their price was a little more affordable than others, and another plus was they didn't have a separate charge for medications.

Carson Valley Senior Living was nice and they showed me different sized rooms, apartments, studios, and a couple of extra rooms where you can put two people together. It's a single-story building. The staff member who gave me the tour was very nice. They play bingo and they have their own bowling team.

I have never written a review before but after talking with a friend that moved their mom into Carson Valley Senior Living ( I might also add that I referred her to Carson Valley Senior Living while my mom was there) she told me how well her mom is doing and that she and her family were so pleased with how active and happy mom is living there. She shared with me that she went into Google to look up Carson valley's web site as she was told they had the activity calendar posted. When connecting through Google she saw a couple reviews. One from the Google site and another from Yelp. After reading the yelp review I was appalled at what the person had said and that alone made me decide to write a review. As I stated above I referred this friend to Carson Valley Senior Living because my mother was there and at that time she had lived there for over 2 years. My mother resided at Carson Valley Senior Living for nearly 4 years. She was very resistant when our family decided this would be best for mom at this time in her life as we could not always be there at her home for her when she needed us. We needed to make sure she was safe and maybe even have social interaction. Mom was very social in her younger years especially while dad was living but as the years passed since dad's death she became more reclusive and very forgetful ( two small kitchen fires within just a few months of each other ) and very dependent upon the family. So after doing a lot of leg work visiting all the communities in the Carson Valley we felt Carson Valley Senior Living was the best for our mom. This was a family decision not just mind and I have 5 siblings that had to agree. So we moved mom in and she was as I said resistant and stand offish for maybe 1 day then she met another resident that she knew from church but had not seen for several years as she had quit going to church. They immediately hit it off and mom became her table mate at meals also. Next thing we knew mom was doing exercises / bingo and she loved the bean bag baseball. Mom was happier than we had seen her in a very long time and her daily calls to us slowly stopped unless she was not feeling well and she wanted us to know. After the first year and a half mom's dementia really started progressing and she began wondering in and out of other residents rooms. this continued for about another 6months and then she began walking out the front door saying she was going home and that she did not live there when she was reminded by staff that she lives here. It was apparent that for her safety she now needed memory care and her doctor agreed after a lot of testing. Mom was then transferred into the memory care section of the community. Although it was hard to see this happen to her we felt comfortable knowing she was safe. Within a couple days mom did not even remember her other apartment. Mom was social and active in everything and anything they did for activities in memory care. For the next two years mom lived in the memory care and was so well cared for by the staff in memory care. The memory care section is much smaller and more staff per residents than in assisted living. Smaller and more intimate. Mom's last year was hard because she started to decline rapidly and the last two months were on hospice. Mom was never bed ridden until the final two days before she passed. We visited often and because of our schedule all different times of the day or evening. We were always pleased with the staff and how the residents, especially our mother was treated and cared for. There was a special bond between the staff and my mother as well as the other residents and you could see it and feel it when you walked in. The last two days were very difficult for our family to see mom near death and the progression of the body when the body is shutting down. The staff and the hospice nurses were absolutely the best. They took such gentle and respectful care of mom. When mom passed and we were notified the staff cleaned mom up and had her dressed in her favorite dress. It was hard seeing her but our family all agreed we had made the right choice for mom. I could never fully express what the care and kindness Carson Valley Senior Living showed to my mother. I have now referred 4 other families to Carson Valley Senior Living and will continue to do so. Leslie

My mother has lived at this facility for a few years now, and the staff and especially the Director Patrick, have always been very caring towards my mother's needs, since she has quite a few health issues. The staff works hard to keep her comfortable and taken care of. It's a nice place, fairly new, and very inviting when you walk in. The rooms are very nice and kept up. Overall a good place for your family member to live and compared to other facilities in the region, they keep their costs down as much as possible, depending on the person's needs and assistance level.
