The Chateau at Gardnerville is beautiful. It's a nice place. Mom is in a one-bedroom apartment with a balcony that overlooks a courtyard, and it is really pretty. They had it repainted and the carpets cleaned. If the previous resident had occupied the room for a long time, they would replace the carpets. The staff is very conscientious. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and nice. She just reminds you to have your temperature checked and your mask is worn. One time, I had to get a cart to get some stuff in from the car for my mother, but I forgot to wear my mask. She wouldn't let me in, but she was nice about it. She was the one who went in and got me a cart. Everything there is lovely. They have live music once a week, tours, exercise classes, and movies. Twice a week, they play bingo, which mom likes. She also loves all the entertaining music that they provide. They have a big courtyard that has a big gazebo, so when weather permits, they have the music out there. Although sometimes, some of their arts and crafts activities don't seem to be geared toward people that are fit to participate. Mom seems to be doing OK, but sometimes she complains about the meals.

Their memory care staff did not inform me that my mother had stopped eating and drinking until 3 days had passed. She had also had 3 more falls I was not informed about. My mother was on hospice care and I should have been allowed to visit. By the time I was allowed to see my mother, she was incoherent and writhing in pain.
My father required further assistance that he frequently did not receive. When he started hospice care, the director tried to deny my visits, and spoke to him about moving to memory care behind my back. It took an intervention from hospice for me to be allowed to visit.
The rest of the staff seems caring and pleasant, but I wouldn't trust the director to care for my plants.

My visit to Brookdale Gardnerville was fine, but it was way too expensive. They charge for every little thing so it was cost-prohibitive. It was a lovely facility, but it's just way overpriced.

My mother-in-law will move to Brookdale this Saturday. It is beautiful and immaculate and has two restaurants they can walk into and order their meal. It's like a timeshare community. They have buses that take them to doctors, and two buses that take them on trips. They have a computer room, classes that teach them to work on computers, and a movie room.

I toured Brookdale Gardnerville. it wasn’t suitable, not because of the facility, which was beautiful, but because my husband needed more care than assisted living. He needed home health, but he passed away before we could do that. The facility was lovely and very suitable for someone who needed assisted care but not medical care. It’s very well kept and had a nice, clean smell. They had a dining room and activities, and everyone there took their meals in the dining room. Had the circumstances been different, that would have been where I would have moved. For my husband, being quadriplegic and not able to move, the only room available was on the third floor and they had a fire drill while we were there, which means that the elevators don’t work. It wouldn’t be a very good place for someone with his condition to be on the third floor when there was a fire because you wouldn’t be able to move him.

Brookdale Gardnerville was a little too large for my dad. There were too many residents. However, it looked clean, everybody seemed very friendly, and the residents seemed fine.

My girlfriend's stepfather has been in Brookdale Gardnerville (Formerly Emeritus at Gardnerville) for over a month now. The staff was very nice. The place appeared clean, and the apartments did look well cared for. We only walked past the dining room, it had some tablecloths on individual tables, and there were four people to a table. It had a very pleasant atmosphere.

I am currently at Brookdale Gardnerville for about a year and a half now. It’s a good facility, and the staff is very caring. They try to give you a hand if you need anything. When I first came in, they asked me if I wanted to have my laundry done, I said that would be great so they took my laundry, and I have never got a piece of clothing back. They lost it all. Nobody did anything about it.

I was very pleased with Brookdale in Gardnerville, but I am just checking out my options at this point. They have just about everything and anything you want to do, and they take them out on excursions. Like I said, everything you could possibly think of that you want to do, they seem to provide. I was very impressed. It was extremely clean, very well-maintained, and the residences were just the right size for my mom. They had open dining from 7 am to 7 pm. It was a restaurant type of menu, and they can choose from the menu at anytime they like.

Mom is in Brookdale Gardnerville, the experience has been very good, and it’s very clean. So far, the staff seems to be good, and the management is good too. The only drawback I think that my mom says is that since the change of ownership the meals have declined.

Emeritus is very beautiful. It’s very well cared for; it’s clean, and designed nicely. All the furniture is really good quality, and they’re pretty. It’s a nice and warm atmosphere. The staff was perfect; they were friendly, could answer all my questions, and had been there for quite some time.
The apartments are quite nice. The very smallest studio is quite small, but the larger size studio is lovely. I think there would be plenty of room because they have so many beautiful shared spaces. There are lots of activities going on.
