My dad was in dementia care. He was doing well with the nurses aides and had a wonderful male aid who really Connected with him. Over a two month period there was a noticeable decline. Lethargy and loss of appetite. The doctor and nurse attributed it to his increasing dementia. When he was hospitalized at my insistence he was found to be severely dehydrated . He was able to come back from this after receiving IV fluids at the hospital. The doctor never saw that he needed more fluids, he was days away from dying. Falls 8 in 7 mos

My mother was admitted to his facility for hospice care after suffering a CVA and has metastatic cancer. My mother arrived alert and could hold our hands and nod her head yes or no. Her second day at the facility a nurse named Jamie overdosed my mother with morphine. Not once, but twice. She should have received 2.5 ML and she gave her 100 ML twice. She told us my mother was showing signs of imminent death and all of a sudden nurses came in to check on her frantic. That's when they notified us of the mistake. My mother was completely non responsive from that point on breathing heavily and completely shut down. My mother passed two days after this happened. The facility didn't seem to care of the mistake until I notified I reported them to The State Department of Health and told them I was getting an attorney. This nurse cost us last moments of speaking to our mother and her responding. No final hand holding or finger rubs or her looking at us. After my mother passed the cleaning staff kept banging at the door to clean the room, they came in to reposition my mother though she was deceased. There was a severe lack of communication within this facility. Think wisely before sending loved ones here.

My aunt was brought to the rehab from the hospital on Thursday -(It is now Sunday) she was seen by occupational and physical therapists on Friday - the occupational therapist missed some very basic physical problems. They took my work phone number to call me - the work number was placed in the "home" spot on the computer. My aunt fell last night - we have not been able to determine if she was in her room or the community room - hit her head, was unconscious - brought to hospital - I was not called by the rehab center - only found out today when we went to see her that she had been in the hospital for 16 hours. I cannot say enough about the issues that I've encountered but I'm sure they'll be hearing from my attorney. DO NOT GO TO THIS REHAB.

My Mother-in-Law was at staying at Bayshore Health Care Center twice. She has received an excellent care on both occasion. She has impressed with the caring and personalized approach of all the nurses, nursing aids and her rehabilitation therapists. I cannot be thankful enough to all the staff there.

This facility has employees that just don't care about the patients. There is no doctor on staff and any questions you have are never answered. Furthermore, leaving patients in a dining room after hours by themselves is unacceptable. Patients are getting bed sores from no movement. Patients are left with dirty diapers . The staff is nasty from aides to social workers. The rooms are so so.

Only bring your loved one here if you have endless amounts of time available to monitor the staff. Once, my mother was sent to the hospital with the wrong paperwork, someone elses paperwork, a HIPPA violation. We sorted it out with administration and felt comfortable sending her back only to have the exact same thing happen again. When confronted with this, the managing nurse insisted that the family shouldn't have been allows to see the paperwork. So, does that mean that it's more important for this nurse to not get in trouble than it is for my mother to be sent to the hospital with someone else's complete paperwork? A helpless person's well-being is held in the balance and this nurse is willing to risk their life for her job. While there are a handful of highly skilled employees at this facility, their greatness and compassion is overshadowed by ignorance, incompetence and overall disdain for their job and their clients.

My mom was in Bayshore for rehab. It was easier for them to get a catheter in her than get her to the bathroom, and then go for a couple of days without giving her a shower. The dining room is dark and not pleasant. I couldn’t wait for my mom to be out of there. They need to improve on the attention the patient needs, and the timeliness of not having to wait for 40 minutes. My mom was miserable.

I recently spent one month at Bayshore Rehab after fracturing my femur and wrist. The worst experience ever. Just to give an idea of my stay; early on I was not to be left alone esp. when I needed to use bathroom. Not only did aide leave me alone, she went home without telling anyone I was in bathroom. After about one week I had to ask to have my sheets changed. One morning my breakfast came with a bowl that had dried oatmeal from someone elses meal. My room had an ant infestation. The workers had complaints about being overworked. There was dried blood on the floor (not mine). Once they ran out of one of my pain meds and made me miss 3 doses (36hrs). Finally, a temp nurse made one phone call to pharmacy and had my medicine delivered in less than 2hrs. The worst of things was watching how some, not all, elderly patients were treated. I wouldn't put my dog in this place. Stay away!

Bayshore Health Care Center is excellent. I would recommend them to other people, but the food was typical. That was one of their downfalls. I'm diabetic and they had some difficulties understanding what I could and couldn't eat, but if you asked for something else, they would gladly to fix you something. The room was immaculate. I'm a bariatric patient so they gave me a private room. They brought in a special bed for me. Each room has a bathroom. They do have long term care where those rooms have sitting rooms.
