About This Community

What Makes Yadkin Valley Senior Living Different?

Our senior living campus is located in the heart of the Yadkin Valley. We are only minutes from Hugh Chatham Hospital. Yadkin Valley Senior Living includes a 60 bed assisted living community, and has 8 independent living apartment units towards the back of the campus. Elkin, NC is home the Yadkin Valley Wine Festival and has small-town charm with the advantages of great shopping, restaurants, and social activities. The community at large is very tight-knit, and being located near the border of Surry and Yadkin counties we have the benefit of serving seniors from both.

Assisted Living:

Our assisted living (AL) communities, which are licensed by the state, help to provide high quality care to residents requiring assistance with their activities of daily living (ADLs). Our dedicated staff members help to provide the following services to our residents:

  • Bathing Assistance
  • Incontinence Care
  • Transfers and Ambulation Assistance
  • Medication Assistance
  • Meal Service
  • Transportation Services
  • Activities Programs
  • Medical Appointment Coordination

Our services can be all-inclusive or a la carte depending on a resident's unique needs. In our communities, we encourage independence and foster rehabilitation efforts for folks working to regain independence. We work closely with your preferred home health agency for skilled nursing and therapy services. If a resident desires to remain in our home, as they near the end of their journey, we can also work with Hospice agencies to provide care in our community.

The lady that we talked to was very nice. There was a smell, but I think that is probably normal in places like that. They seem to care for the people well, but it was kind of depressing. My husband is the one that we were going for; we were going to look for his mom, and he was not too excited about her staying there. My personal feeling is that she is not to the point where she needs the assisted living there so much, but she is not able to handle independent living as well.

The rooms were good. They had plenty of room and were clean. There was a dining room and a living room. The people seemed to be active.
