Food not eatable. Staff non responsive. Urine left for 12 hours once, not the only time it was left standing. My room was never in 15 days truly clean. The only food I had was brought by my husband. They couldn’t or wouldn’t prepare healthy meals, I’m a diabetic and a vegetarian never was I presented anything I would eat. It was an absolutely horrible 15 day experience.

My mom was sent to Brian Center Southpoint (Formerly Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation) because she had a fracture in her leg and it was recommended by the medical staff that she go there for rehab purposes. It's OK and it's not anything like bells and whistles, so we're just kinda dealing with it. As far as I know, they're treating the residents professionally and with courtesy. We are not allowed to go into the facility per se, and I only saw a couple of people from the staff there and they seemed OK. She says the food is pretty good. She gets a lot of the same stuff throughout the course of the week, but overall it's OK, she hasn't really complained, and we are allowed to bring food to her.

I was a patient at Brian Center Southpoint for 6 1/2 weeks following jaw surgery. I would like to commend and thank the entire staff for taking such good care of me. They all made my rehab as pleasant as could be expected. Bravo !! Highly recommended for any rehabilitation. The WiFi/internet could be better.

Do Not send your family member here! Especially if you love them and want to see them again. My grandmothers room was dirty and someone stole her soap. I mean how pathetic does one have to be to steal from a patient who is elderly? I wish I could right a nice review but I can't. And I will continue to review this place until changes are made to management and staff. This place is total joke!!!

The therapy team especially Cape, both Rachel's and Stephanie, did an outstanding job. I won't be where I am today without their help. Some days the would even bring my breakfast before kick starting the day with therapy.

I was a patient/guest of Brian Center for two weeks and have been home for three days. Funny thing how things go in life. I spent over 43 years in health care never thinking about being on the receiving end. I could say that I was/am a Registered Nurse. But like a Marine, I will always be a nurse. Now at the age of 67 my body, memory, and mind are slowly diminishing, I can still acknowledge and evaluate my experience. I found Brian Center a wonderful surprise. It was all of five minutes from my son’s home. So easy for my family. The room was large and the bathroom easy to get in and out of. Housekeeping was in several times a day keeping everything shipshape. I confess I do not remember names well and I wished I had kept notes. But your staff is truly top notch. Cheerful and up beat. After over 40 years I can tell you, you can not fake either. I do have two names I will never forget. Carol and Brandie....my PT and Ot....and so many others in the Gym ready to lend a hand and encouragement. I hadn’t slept so well in years. Oh, I cannot forget Mary on 3-11 shift. Always reluctant to waking me, but my blood sugars were weird to say the least. One thing I cannot overlook is the food....it is hard to make a controlled diet tasty, but you did. My appetite is slow to return but i enjoyed everything with very few exceptions. I know once I finish this I’ll think of things I’d liked to share. Or a name or two of faces and voices I will remember fondly, with names escaping me. All in all thank you Brian Center of Southpoint for being there.

I was a outpatient at Brian Center for physical therapy after a hip replacement. I would say they do an excellent job in every way!! The therapists are very knowleable, caring, and patient on every visit. I would definitely return the Brian center if I need physical therapy again. I would recomend the Brian to anyone that needs help after a hospital visit or needs help after surgery.

The staff did an awesome job. Wpuld love to thank the entire staff for taking great care of my mother. Always smiling and friendly conversations.

My mother has been a long term resident of the Brian Center Southpoint for 2 years now. She was also here in 2006 for rehab after brain surgery. The physical therapist, occupational, speech therapists were great - then as now. Also the rest of the staff does wonderful work especially Anita and Steven, who have been on staff for over 20 years. My Mom stayed at Brian Center for a few years after her surgery, and received great care in the Long Term Care Section. Don Joseph has been the Administor, doing an exemplary job, working with Vickie O'Quinn as the Director of Nursing. There ongoing commitment to provide quality care shows. I have seen them there many weekends as well as all hours during the week. My mother was readmitted to the Brian Center Southpoint 2 years ago when we were unable to provide the round-the-clock care that she needs, with her dementia progressing. All of the staff has provided such quality care to my Mom and to so many other patients. There are so many that have been helpful. Debra has been the Activities Director for years and her love of those patients shows. Charee has been a wonderful Nursing Assistant who has helped my Mom. Kristen has worked behind the scenes and at the front desk doing a good job. Myra, LPN has gone above and beyond helping me get address special care needs for my Mom. Pam, Sue, Gail, Felicia have all been wonderful nurses to my Mom. Loretha and others clean the rooms and do a great job. Tracy washes the personal clothes and linens and the kitchen staff does a great job, too. Marietes has a great smile and is so helpful. Dorothy has been an Aide there for years and is so kind to the patients. Trina, Adrianne, Sara, Natalie, Debra , Theo- there are many who provide such wonderful care. I hope I didn't miss anyone since so many have helped my mother and other patients. I don't know what the nursing assistants make there but they deserve a raise since being a nursing assistant in any nursing home is tough. When my Mother was admitted from the hospital to the Brian Center Rehab section I was invited to team staff meetings which included the nursing supervisor, the dietician, physical therapy staff etc. I have had no problems getting any answers to my questions from any of the staff members about my Mother.

Amazing staff but corporate should be ashamed of themselves. In order to improve profits the food served is not even a good grade of dog food! Most of the people here can't speak for themselves........shame on you!!!!

Brian Center was a very clean facility. The staff seems really helpful. They answered my questions. They seemed very personable and very knowledgeable. I went into one room, and it seemed that it had a lot of amenities. They had a TV. The bathroom was separated where you had a toilet and a shower. It seemed like it was very accessible. The grounds of the facility was well maintained. They have everything setup. It was very welcoming, and the place was very nice and well maintained.

Brian Center was very bright, clean, and pretty lively, but they had a waiting list to get into it. The room was very clean, very bright, and airy. There were a lot of activities.

The overall service at Brian Center of Durham is good. They have a lot of staff working for them, and they are very helpful. Their private room has a bathroom, a sink, own bed, TV. It is spacious. What I like most about Brian Center is the location. It is close to the highway, quite easy to get your way around, close to clinics.

Brian Center had a homey atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. It's also nearby, so it would be easy to visit. We were satisfied with the facility. It's clean, and it has a rating of 100 percent. They were very accommodating. The residents indicated that the food was ideal, and they were very pleased to be there. The staff seemed to be very capable, and we were pleased with what we saw in terms of what they were doing.

My 86 yr old father has been at the Brian Center for a week now after being transferred from hospital after a heart attack. From the first day, I was not impressed with the state of the facility. The hallway to which he was assigned smells of urine and call alarms go off continuously. His room is very stark and the furniture is shabby. One drawer had spilled pink stuff covering the bottom. The faucet has a fast and wasting drip. The TV which is mounted on the wall is very tiny. I didn't know that they came in such a small size. I felt really badly leaving my father in this place. The venue is really uninviting but the quality of staff varies considerably. The biggest problem is communication. During our first week there, there was virtually none. When Dad was transferred to the facility from the hospital, no one explained how he would be rehabilitated, asked about his food preferences or needs, told us how often progress meetings would occur etc. They also did not give us a copy of his release papers from the hospital. We had no idea what drugs he was prescribed. When I tried to get answers, there was rarely a nurse at the nursing station and when there was, they would ignore me until I asked for their help. Most acted like they didn't want to talk to anyone. I've never been to a place that was so unfriendly. The incident that bothered me the most was I witnessed a male nurse come in to give my father a shot that I normally administer. It is a pre-loaded syringe that measures out a dose automatically. You just add the needle and remove the two covers, pull back to load and push to inject. The nurse only took off one cover and poked it deeply into the folds of my father's stomach. This alone is incorrect as one should hold a fold of skin so as to inject SC. I pointed out that he just wasted a dose ($70) because he did not remove the cap and it released the drug into the cap. He was surprised and did it again and rushed out of the room. I looked for his name to report him but he was not wearing an ID tag. In fact, many of the employees were not wearing identification that day. One cannot tell a nurse from a housekeeper there. I called the Nurse Director several times to talk with her about this incident and she never returned my call. I even stopped in the morning to talk and she was "not available". I finally got her on the phone and she acted like it was not a big deal and that I was over-reacting. She never offered an apology only said that the staff was later trained to give it properly. The Nurse Director, I feel, was quite uncaring and unprofessional in her handling of the situation. However, I did talk to one person who called me unsolicited with concerns about my father's status. The Speech Pathologist was very friendly and wanted more background information about Dad's normal behavior and cognition. I was happy to talk with her. She promised to work on those things and even adjust his diet to accommodate dental issues. Without going on and on about incidents I feel that there are a few good people at this facility (therapists) but most are very uncaring (nurses) and the place is disorganized and mismanaged. Beware.

My mom is at Brian Center. It is very good. Their work attitude is very good. They have dual-patient rooms. They have a television, places to put your clothes in, and an adjacent bath. Brian Center also has a full rehab center.

Please do not consider this place for a loved one. I had great hesitation about my father being sent there for rehabilitation. Prior to going there my father was in the hospital for a few weeks. He went to this place and in two day's they had him in such bad shape we had to take him back to the hospital. On his second night my father called scared because they were not checking his sugar.My sister had to go in at 11:30 at night. His sugar was the highest it has ever been.only when my sister busted in would they check it and give him his insulin. There is something very weird going on in this place. My father kept telling me people would ask for money for everything. Including moving him from his chair to a wheel chair. I thought my father misunderstood. Then I came across a woman who tried to pay me to change her. Seriously someone really needs to check this place out and find out what is going on. Staff is rude and unhelpful. Please do not consider this place for anyone. You will be sorry I promise you.

If you or your loved one needs skilled care, don't send them here. Physical therapy was a joke, I once counted 11 days without seeing a therapist walk through my door. They were told the specific care I would need and though assured they had the right equipment, they did not. The wound nurse is a joke, she couldn't manage a bandaid on a paper cut. I got worse under her care, not better. The staff is neglectful and often left me in my own mess for hours at a time. And when the staff was confronted on the issues, they made up lies to cover themselves. I won't even start on the food slop I was served. UNtrained, UNderstaffed, UNskilled, and UNcaring. Enter at your own risk.

our mother has been a long term care since december 2011, my family has been very pleased with the care and respect that has been shown to our mother from the receptionists answering the phones, the enviromental services, dietary,social workers, physical therapist, DR.Smith(male) and the clinical staff(Dorothy,Adrian,David,Mary, Ms.Nettie the ADN(Sha) and Nurse mgr to name a few, and everyone we have interacted with all have been awesome!!!!!!! kudos to the 400 hall staff!!! One of the things that needs improvement is the dietary menu,other than this nothing but awesome. Keep up the good works!!

I would not take a dog here for rehab! or my worst enemy! The staff knowledge is of a middle school kid, I dont know who is running this place but they need to be shut door, lock the doors and throw away the kid. The care my parent received here was the worst I have ever seen, the nurses are not friendly and always have an attitude if you ask for anything, the rooms are not clean, the food is some mess I would never ever eat even if I was straving. The rehab theraphy is a joke! They dont have a meal plan for diabetics I was told everyone eats the same thing! What how crazy is that. If you love your family, do not leave them in this place! Worst Care Award!
