My grandmother has been at Peak Healthcare - Sligo Creek for 25 days now. The rehabilitation center is pretty clean. It seems like the nursing staff cares for the patients. They were able to get some of her bed sores healed pretty quickly, which means they're attentive to them. Overall, my grandmother has been pretty happy at the place. The staff has been very friendly. She has a shared room. It's like a normal nursing home type of setup where it's not completely looking like home, but they still have hospital supplies and cabinetry. They're ordering her a special machine that will read her books for her because she's blind, and they're going to order more things for the blind to accommodate her. They have an exercise room. They have board games and other activities for the residents. They try to get some of the people who are more mobile to walk around because I do see the nurses walking them around just to see different scenery. My grandmother enjoys the food. She said the only thing she didn't like is that they are heavy on the pepper. They're kind of pricey compared to the other facilities, but I guess it's due to the quality of care that they provide.

If you are seeking the minimal care for your loved one, this is the place.Thought that Genesis Healthcare system would be better, but they are only interested in making money. Some caregivers showed they care, but a minority, most there to get a paycheck, do what is minimally needed, and try to avoid answering questions. Social workers do not return phone calls and do not provide information requested. 1. Lack of communication regarding treatment rehab and requests for medical charts went unanswered. 2. Do not trust what you are told. 3. Cockroaches present bedside. 4. Room cleaning below standards for healthcare. 5. Patient experienced severe dementia that escalated while at Sligo Creek, questioned the staff about them medicating at night. They said no, but would not provide medical charts to family. 6.Once discharged, dementia disappeared completely, imagine that!! It was not a miracle, the staff was indeed medicating without the consent of family. 7. Lack of care multiple days, only putting trays of food, not changing patient 8. They terminated rehab and forced out. 9. Too many patients (many 3 per room) for staffing. Thank god patient is not there now with COVID. I pray for those patients at Sligo Creek.
