New Pond Village was a wonderful place. The people were fantastic. The staff was unbelievably knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great program there. The facility is nice. The reason why we didn't choose New Pond Village is that it's a little too far away from our preferred area. They have all three levels of care. It has independent living, assisted living, and memory care. So they have a complete facility. It's great, it's just not in the location that we would prefer.

New Pond Village and its rooms were good. We only visited the independent care facility. The marketing people were nice and very thorough. They explained and I understood. I liked it in general.

The gentleman at New Pond Village was fantastic, and told me what they offer and what they do, and gave me a tour of the building. It's the biggest place I went to. It looks like a very large apartment complex. They had construction going on and were very generous in explaining the construction and making sure I understood what was happening. They told me what was there before and was going to be offered afterwards. I saw three different apartments, and I thought the whole place was great. For activities, I saw where they had a workshop, a crafts room, pool table, a bar, and exercise room. It seemed there was a lot to do there, and a lot of amenities. And they were working on making it even better. The rooms that they had were the nicest among those I visited, but it was just such a huge building.

We went to New Pond Village. It was a fine facility. We had lunch there, which was good. They have very nice dining areas. The rooms had great views, and they were a good size too. They have activities. They would take you to Boston, to the museums, and to the operas. Of course, they have all kinds of classes there. They do have the assisted living and memory care. New Pond Village is very good. We are still looking at it as a place to go.

The grounds are lovely and everything seemed very clean and cheerful. The staff were particularly sunny and have been able to provide the assistance needed without over-crowding the people in their care. They were very professional and approachable. It is a nice mix of personal care and professional distance which allows people living there to maintain their independence as much as they care to. They also organize trips into Boston, to the museum of fine arts, or the Isabella Stuart Gardner museum, or to the symphony. These kinds of outings are important for mental and social stimulation, and to keep people engaged in the outside world. There is a small kitchen in the apartment, and it gets a lot of natural light - and they were invited to choose a new rug and wall paint or wallpaper before moving in. All of this personalization helps them get invested in their new living arrangements, but it doesn't make it any easier to leave one's home.
