Kokomo Place is very homely, and people are very friendly. It's like one big family, but my problem with it is, the rooms are so small. I'm sure they have larger rooms, but I was only looking at a one-bedroom. It's not enough room in there for me, I feel like I would be in a little box. The staff, was lovely, I enjoyed being with her. She knew her job very well and explained things in detail to me. Their dining area is beautiful, I like it. I would feel comfortable and at home. I noticed they go on trips, like to the store or the mall. They have activities for them. There's a place to play games and play cards. I think that's very nice because they keep you busy, and they do puzzles to keep your mind active. Because of the size of the room, I can only give them a rating of three. The staff were wonderful and very knowledgeable about what they were telling me. The people I talked to were very nice.

My friend absolutely loved Kokomo Place. We had a very friendly and good tour. The employees were extremely nice, and he thought that place would be nirvana. There were a lot of available activities. The thing I liked about it was there were more men at this facility than I've seen at other places. They also have a courtyard, an area where they play cards together, and a living room area. It's a very welcoming facility.

Our tour at Kokomo Place was very good, I had a very favorable impression. The one thing about that one is that they allow pets in there, and pets were running free in the lobby. You could tell some of the residents were liking that, but my mom is afraid of dogs. And they were big and they belonged even to some of the managers and the people working there. And that was enough for me, that was not the place for her. But their care was good. I think they had better staffing even than where my mom is at now because they have more people that take care of the per resident ratio. Theirs was better than her current community but she would never get past that dog thing. They were friendly, the lady made room for me, she called back, and she followed up. They were very nice on their tour and spent a lot of time with us. The maintenance and the layout were fine. They had a lot of different options at that one. Like if you want to have a window or don't want a window, the price went up by how much access you had, or how close you were to other things. Or if you could see the outside or if you had a patio. Their scale was more varied that way.

I toured Kokomo Place. They were more expensive, and I had to furnish everything, and it's just like moving into an apartment, everything from the shower curtain to the towels. The staff I met seemed nice. It looked nice.

I really liked Kokomo Place. They're kind of under lockdown, but I saw the apartments that were available, and also my puppy would be welcome. I really liked the place, and the lady that was in admissions. I can't really afford what they're asking for an apartment unless my long-term care kicks in, and frankly I don't quite qualify for that yet. It was clean and it smelled good. It had an outdoor area with the apartments around on the first floor. The apartments that I looked at were perfect as far as having my little pet with me. The dining area was small when you spread people six feet apart, the ladies that were residents, a lot of them were visiting in the lobby, and they were all quiet and watching television together. I love to read, and I think I would be happy there, especially in the apartment that faces the atrium, which is outside.

Kokomo Place was very clean and it was more home-like. They also have nursing care. The apartment was more of a studio with a dorm-sized refrigerator and microwave. Cleaning and all three meals are included in the price. The staff member was very nice. The facility is built in a square and there's a courtyard in the middle. They have flowers, bushes, and small trees, and a sidewalk that runs from one porch to the other. They're a more secure facility. Nobody can get in unless you're let in, and the door beeps if someone tries to leave. If you have memory care issues, you would have to push on the door and hold it for five or 15 seconds just to get let out.

I chose it for myself. Their food is OK, and lunch is a really good meal. I played bingo one time and like their Bible class.

It was on the right side of town and everything just fit. We had two sets of parents in there. One had two rooms, and it was kind of open with bathroom, shower and a kitchen. Then one, which was more of a one big room. I liked the staff. They had been great. It was just a good experience for us. They were wonderful. It was secured. We had been involved there long enough that we had the combination to get into the building, but they had to let us out. There were always things that you had to talk about. If we had a problem, they had always been solved.
