I went on a tour of Keepsake Village of Columbus Memory Care. They had an excellent program and I liked that their staff had longevity, so it would have been a good fit for my mother. It was a little dated but they were working on that and remodeling. I could see that they had kept their residents out of their rooms and engaged in activities. The facility itself was very clean and adequate, and the outside was beautiful. I liked their activity room or front room, it was very inviting and you felt like you were in a large living room. So I liked the general way that they set up the floor plan. But the individual rooms' paint color was an ugly beige. I have visited around six communities altogether, and this would be one of my top choices.

My brother and sister-in-law have moved into Keepsake Village of Columbus Memory Care. I think they're liking it alright. I haven't had a chance to see them because of the COVID, but the nurses keep me very well informed, and they're getting good care from hospice, so I think they're doing good. I have been inside and outside, and it's nice, clean, and well taken care of, and they have nice rooms, too. I would like to get in and visit, but you can't do that right now. I wish they had a room where they could take them and you can go in and talk to them there, but no place is doing that right now. Also, every once in a while you can't get a hold of a manager when you need to for specific questions, and it might take them a while to get back with you. I know they're busy, but other than that I think they're doing pretty good. Sometimes, my brother and sister-in-law don't like the meals, so it would be good if they had something where they could have a choice of three or four different things. Nevertheless, from what I've seen, my brother is always clean, and the staff is always in nice-looking clothes when they come to the door and take something from me, and the inside looks good, too. They don't have any activities right now because of COVID.

My mother-in-law is at Keepsake Village of Columbus. Their staff seems really good. The nursing care is very good. They have been there for her during her change from one community center to this place. They're very compassionate towards her. It's a smaller place, so that helps too. We like the fact that they have 24-hour nursing care there, and that they allowed her to bring her dog. She is participating with their activities director when they do activities and stuff. Somehow, this director has gotten her to participate, and we really think that's great.

I think that the staff at Keepsake Village of Columbus is highly skilled and qualified. They only take patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. My father seems to be very happy there. The outside appearance resembles more of an actual house, so it has a very warm, welcoming feeling. When you walk in, you’re greeted by a stone fireplace, and my father does have a private room.

When we went to Keepsake Village of Columbus they were having a renovation, but as far as the manager that I talked to, he was very informative. They offer 24 hour care as well as transportation. They also have a beauty shop so that was very nice.

Keepsake Village is nice. It's back in a little grassy area, but it's not very far from anything. The people there weren't as functioning as my father, so we eliminated it right away because we thought he'd be really depressed. This is a good place, and the director of nursing took us around. He was very knowledgeable, and he also knows a lot about dementia. He is super. It seemed like they have a lot of activities. They were folding towels when we were there. I looked in the activities schedule, and it seemed OK. They seemed good -- very caring, clean, lots of private rooms available, nice facility. They need full care, so they get the full 3 meals.

Keepsake Village is newer, exceptionally clean, and we like the programs they have. He's been well taken care of.
