About This Community

To us at Adams Pointe in Quincy, Illinois, assisted living means two things: you do the living and we help you live. Our personal assistants provide what you need when you need it. Here, the emphasis is less on paperwork and more on people. Our licensed nurse and certified medication aides get to know our residents like family, with all of their unique needs and preferences. It's like home.

Dining is a focal point of our residents' day at Adams Pointe. It starts with an open breakfast with eggs just the way you like them. We accommodate our early risers ready for toast and coffee as well as those who can't start the day without a big hot breakfast. Comfort foods, foods familiar and favorite, are part of our menu.

Our admission counseling services are comprehensive. Our administrator helps guide the family through all of the care options available to them as well as through the maze of paperwork involved with accessing our public long term care benefits. Making it easy on the family is our first priority at Adams Pointe.

At The Arbors at Adams Pointe in Quincy, IL, living with Alzheimer's becomes less of a challenge for you and your loved one. We combine the intimacy of assisted living with specialized care for dementia. The size of the Arbors promotes a comforting, calming environment. With no more than 15 rooms, the Arbors co-exists with a sister assisted living facility, yet remains separate. Care is provided in a building specifically designed with the care of the Alzheimer's resident in mind. We consider each resident's own strengths and weaknesses to weave a seamless cloth of individualized care. We also incorporate the latest approaches to this challenging disease into the daily routines and activities of all our residents. It's difficult to even search for proper care while tending to someone with Alzheimer's. Each day presents new challenges to patients and their caregivers. At the Arbors we offer a shelter of care and advice for the entire family.

Adams Pointe was pleasant, but it seemed like they didn't have as much time to spend with me as some of the other places. Other than that, the place was very nice. I had been there before because one of my mom's friends lived there. The rooms are called alcoves and they were quite nice. They were 345 square feet and 413 square feet for an alcove and a large alcove, respectively. Mom's friend was very happy there. They had outings from time to time and exercises. If relatives came to visit, they would let you use their private dining room. I thought that was nice, too. They had call buttons. There was one near where you would put the bed and another one in the bathroom, as well as individual necklaces that you could wear.

I am so happy to have found Adams Pointe for Mom. It is a beautiful home on just one level, just the right homey size for her. We both knew it was the right place when we walked in the door. We could hear the happy chatter of the residents in the dining hall even though lunch time was over. Every day has special events to keep life interesting for the residents... but the best part is how much the staff seems to be excited about doing them. Mom's apartment is lovely and she has her privacy but is frequently checked on. She has her independence but can have as much help as she needs.

I like Adams Pointe because it was a smaller place, and that is what my mother liked. During our visit, she felt comfortable there because it's a smaller place. The staff is very nice, helpful, and very understanding. Their rooms are spacious, very clean, and airy. We were not able to eat there, but they do have a standard dining room, and the food smelled good.
