My overall tour at Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care is excellent. The staff who gave the tour was also excellent. The facility is relatively new, very modern, and tastefully decorated. It has very attractive living spaces. There was an excellent calendar of activities. There's a bistro with all the refreshments, in addition to their dining room. I saw the menu but did not try the food. It was impressive and restaurant-like. It was sit-down dining with menu options. The location is a little bit out of the mainstream; it's on a dead-end street. It's a little bit remote. Dollar for dollar, they're an excellent value for independent living.

My brother is in Serenity Assisted Living and Memory Care right now. He is doing pretty good, and he loves it there. I'm in Arizona and he is in Illinois so I can't get there, but I've heard very good reports that the people are very friendly and very kind, and everybody that goes there, doesn't want to leave. The food is so good that they don't even want to go anywhere else at lunchtime. They want to stay there because they have a chef that cooks there. Everybody just loves it there. They don't want to go anywhere else. That's all I know, and that's what they told me. Then, later on, I heard him say that everything that they told me was true. He said that he can't believe it and that he has never been in a place like this. He said everybody calls him by name and that the help is so friendly. They just have real special care for their patients.

My dad is at Serenity Assisted Living & Royce Elliot Memory Care. Its new, and bright, with big rooms. He has a 1-bedroom apartment, and he likes it. He likes the food. He stays in his room and reads a lot. The staff is very friendly.
