Ramsey Village is a very good place. Mom has a small room, but that's not what caught my eye. It was what was going on outside the room. The caring staff and the people sit together and talk in the areas around the building. They had an Elvis impersonator come in yesterday afternoon and the week before that (since they're close to Drake University), they had students come in and meet or just converse with the residents. Mom is very social and we want to continue that stuff and give her that opportunity. The facility is a little bit older than I thought it was. I think the original building was built back in the 50s, but I would not have thought that at all. They did a very good job of keeping the building itself up to date and added modern things and just kept it very presentable. Nothing flashy, but it's homey, clean, and well-kept. I was there yesterday and the food wasn't anything fancy, but I think overall, it's good. Whatever their fee is, covers just about everything as opposed to a lot of places where you got your basic fee, and then as you need a little assistance every day, it costs much more. They didn't have that. That was all rolled into a very nice number.

My husband has been at Ramsey Village for about three weeks now and he seems to be doing OK there. Everybody there is very friendly and very helpful. We like working with the nurses and the staff in the office. It has a home-like atmosphere. I am not allowed in the dining room, so I have not tried their food, but my husband likes the food there. They have movie days where they watch movies and have popcorn. They take the residents out on trips. They'll do just about anything that you need help with.

I toured Ramsey Village for my mother. It was a nice place, but it had that nursing home feel. They had the assisted living part and more of a nursing part on another floor. It wasn't that cozy. It had that hospital feel. The room that I saw was a suite. It was OK. It wasn't anything special, and it wasn't very big. The staff were great. They were nice, toured me around, and answered all of my questions. They had some games and things to play. They had groups that played cards. There was an exercise room, and they had a salon.

My grandmother moved to Ramsey Village. So far, they're very caring and considerate. They're meeting the needs that are needed even though they're short-staffed. She said that the food is very good, she gets homemade everything, so she has no complaints. They have bingo and crocheting, and they have a calendar with everything on it. Somebody comes in and does the toenails and the fingernails. They also have bingo twice a week but what they haven't done is go on outings, that's the only downfall so far. They don't have a whole therapy area at all, while the other places that we looked at had a therapy room. Right now she's not getting as much therapy as she wants, she's not getting the walking that she needs. They do laundry for her, they come in and clean the room, change the sheets, and they help with putting her hearing aids in. I haven't had any problems. The building itself is very clean and she likes the food. I think there could be more activities.

I thought Ramsey Village was OK, but the assisted living felt more like a nursing home. The rooms and the dining room were nice. They had two different dining rooms that people could choose from. They bring in people to do activities with them. It was less expensive than the other place I visited. It was clean. It wasn't dirty by any means. It's just an older facility. I only met one staff and she seemed fine. The difference between going from there to the other place was the other one felt homier. They need some upgrades to make it feel less institutional and more like a home.

We visited Ramsey Village. It was nice. We didn't really like the views from the rooms. It was an older facility, but it was really pretty nice. For my mom, I didn't like the layout of the place. To me, it would be more confusing for her just the way the hallways are laid out and stuff. It was confusing to me. One of the rooms we saw had a view of the woods, which was OK. It was just an older facility. The staff was fine. The business lady was the only person we really met there.

My brother picked Ramsey Village for mom because of its good rating. She's in enhanced assisted living, but it has a nursing home too. I met with the staff and talked to them. They're not perfect, but they've done a good job. I'm happy with them. I discussed mom's care and they were interested and listening to me. She said the food most of the time is fine, but sometimes she doesn't like it. She's been there three months now. They don't have too many activities with COVID still going on, but they do a really good job with the facility. It looks really good, and everything looks clean and nice. They're very reasonably priced. Compared to most other places, I think their price is very good. It's centrally located. It's easy to get there, and it's near Drake University.

I visited Ramsey Village. We looked at long-term care, assisted living, and independent living. A current resident showed me her living arrangement. She walked through what she loved about living there. There were lots of activities. It seemed that a lot of people were out of their rooms interacting with each other. The dining area was very clean. The residents were enjoying the food. The servers were super responsive. It was great.

We toured Ramsey Village and I had mixed feelings about it. I felt you couldn't go from A to B without a going through a locked door, you felt locked in, and it needed updating. It was built in the 1930's. The staff was very nice, the residents were watching the eclipse with glasses on, and it was a fun environment.

Ramsey Village was very pleasant, it seemed a friendly place, and they had lots of things going on. The grounds were adequate, it was accessible, and the price was about average. They were very friendly, and I would recommend them.

We're happy with Mom's placement at Ramsey Village. I had very specific criteria I was looking for, and they had those. The staff is excellent, and I can tell they're well-trained in their areas. Mom is in a memory care unit right now and requires a lot of physical help, but the staff works well with the people. I've visited on numerous occasions, and I've never seen anything that's a concern to me. They are fulfilling what we needed for her. They offer several levels of care too, so if she progresses from one into the other, they can accommodate that, so that's another big plus for them.

We visited Ramsey Village for my mother. It was very nice. The staff seemed very nice too. The rooms were very nice. None of them was big, but they were adequate. I didn’t see as much as activities as the other two places, but they did have live entertainment. The common dining-area was nice. It was big. The facility was OK. It was clean. They were very friendly. It seemed like a safe place.

My mother-in-law visited and had a list of places to see while she was in the area. On her list was Ramsey Village. Right away, you notice the state of the place. Everything looks pristine from the outside. The lawn care and maintenance was top notch. We are in a drought in our area, but there was no yellow grass, it was well managed. Once we got inside, it was more of the same. The commons room was in great shape. The whole facility was in pristine shape. Some of the rooms had some stuff around, but that was because the residents have more independence. I saw a nurse helping one lady with cleaning, so it seems that if you want or need help with cleaning it is available, but if you want a "lived in" look, you can do it yourself. The amenities were pretty nice. A major bonus, is that even in a walk through, you can get prices. You don't have to talk to a manger or anything, you can just get a printout with the options and costs. It's very upfront. It was more like a hotel in its style and cleanliness than an assisted living home. Very professionally run. It's very high on my mother-in-law's list.
