My family is very satisfied with the care our loved one is getting at Solaris long term care. We have had a couple of issues to take care of but nothing major; she gets great loving care there. The facility is kept clean and their response to COVID and Hurricane Ian has been right on. I am surprised by some of the negative comments here but I can only speak of our experience. There are more activities than most can probably do; sometimes two in the morning and two in the afternoon. They have fun activities, particularly on Friday Happy Hour....live music and wine/beer for those who want, and snacks for everyone . The meals always look wonderful; I have not eaten them myself yet but all indication is that they taste as well as they look. Also, the private accommodation is very very nice. There are great places to visit including outdoor spaces, screened lanais, and plenty of sidewalks to stroll and visit. I encourage anyone looking for this level of care to take a look at Solaris in Port Charlotte.

The Solaris HealthCare Charlotte Harbor is nice, but it's a little more clinical. I visited there and my mom was going to go there and then for some reason, they stopped taking patients when she was supposed to go there, so instead, she went to the other place. I visited both. First, we went to the rehab center, and then they showed me the extended care afterward. It was nice. They have a lot of activities for their patients, but the rooms were a little more hospital-like. The person that was giving me the tour was very courteous, and I didn't see any other staff. The facility was very nice. Compared to New York's rehabs, it's a thousand times better.

Solaris HealthCare Charlotte Harbor was way too expensive. My friend's husband still drives, and he wants to be able to come and go, but the residents there could not come and go as they wanted. You're also not allowed to have alcohol. So, there are certain things that they set in their ways that they couldn't do there, but the place was nice and clean. I had friends who had been there for rehab and the staff was nice to him. Everybody was fine and the parking lot was adequate.

Solaris HealthCare has the PT right there, and they do very well with the PT. I do think the facility needs more people in there working. I think they're too low staffed and I think it could be cleaner, too. I have a friend who lives there. The outside looks nice. The rooms, on the other hand, are very small and not very welcoming. I've been there several times visiting several different people, and the food looks OK. I don't know how tasted because I didn't eat there, but it looked OK. It's not a high-quality place. They have activities. They need to make the rooms more welcoming for the patient themselves. It's just very dreary looking. The dining room was nice, but the rooms were not good.

My husband was transferred from Sarasota Memorial to Solaris in Port Charlotte. This was a very smooth move, staff is professional, caring, immaculate rooms and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend

My mother was rushed to the hospital from this facility in May, presenting with pneumonia, sepsis, body temperature in the 80’s and told by the way she is COVID positive. Obviously she didn’t get in this state overnight. She later passed away a little over a week. The best care she received was in the hospice. In the COVID reporting this facility lists the beds on their reporting which is misleading. It should list the number of actual residents. I did bring this to someone’s attention and a few days later my mother all of a sudden was this ill. I can’t imagine my mothers condition that led up to someone finally deciding maybe we better get her to the hospital. I don’t believe it was COVID that caused her passing, it was being sent to the hospital in the condition she was in. She didn’t have a chance. The isolation was tough enough and lack of communication and options for families with technology.

I would not send my worst enemy to this facility. My mother was sent to this facility from cape Coral hospital do to her being Covid positive and needing physical therapy because she was so weak. I was unable to visit my mother do to the covid virus, however I was able to do a window visit. When I approached my mother's window she was in a wheelchair falling forward out of the chair they had her so over-medicated to the point I did not even recognize my mother. I called the facility to let them know that my mother was getting ready to fall out of her Wheelchair. I had to call back a second time it took them almost 10 minutes to get to my mother. Being over-medicated my mother would come to a little bit and then try to get up by herself I had to bang on her window with my fist to get her to kind of glanced at me so that I could tell her not to get up, them taking as long as they did my mother could have been hurt very very badly. if we had not went up there when we did there is no telling what would have happened with my mother. I had her sent from the facility to bayfront hospital which was wonderful to my mother and got her out of being over-medicated and found out she had pneumonia on top of it. Now my mother is home and doing well I would not send my worst enemy to that facility. Now that I have my mother home I called the doctor's office to get her pain medication. When I called the pharmacy to find out if it was ready they informed me that this facility had filled both of her prescriptions for the whole month and now I'm having problems getting her prescriptions because they are narcotics. My mother has been in a few facilities in fort Myers where we live I have never had a facility fill her medication for the month EVER, so if your family member has narcotic medication please be aware that they will fill their prescriptions for that whole month and you will not be able to get them when they get home! I will be filing a formal complaint against this facility on my mother's behalf. I do not want anyone else to go through the misery that my family has been through because of what this facility has done.

I would not recommended this facility to anyone. I have made it a point to note to never send my parents to this facility. I have witness the facility drop off a 88 year old patient off to a doctors office with no cna and no family member. The patient was unable to speak or care for her self. God Forbid the patient need to use the bathroom she had no one to help her, mind you she wasn't even aware where she was at or what she was doing. This is uncalled for and never should have happen. Shame on the nursing home for putting the patient in this situation.

To attempt to FORCE their employees to receive the flu vaccination, employer forced the employee to wear a mask if flu vaccination is refused thus hampering the employee's right to refuse vaccination when a simple document could have been signed by the employee who has the right to refuse any vaccinations for any reason. This heavy handed forcing a mask to be worn does not serve ANY medical purpose and should not be permitted!

My mother in law was in this awful rehab. They left her in bed unshowered and unchanged for 3 days. No food or water. Admitted to me that they had no excuse. As a result was admitted to ER with a UTI and sepsis. Almost died. Had meeting after meeting and each day things got worse and worse. They did nothing to prevent my mother in law from falling, which happened 4 times. Reported this place to Ombudsman, Adult Protective Services and Agency for Healthcare Admin. DO NOT SEND A LOVED ONE TO THIS TORTURE CHAMBER.

My aunt was in Solaris HealthCare after she was released from the hospital. She had a good experience there. It was an older building, but they treated her fine. She was happy with her stay there. There was nothing exceptional, but nothing was bad.

I have my mother in the rehab at this healthcare and I am very unhappy with it. My mother became weaker while there. They said she was a fall risk so put her in a wheel chair the whole time she has been there. She now is so weak she can't even get to the bathroom by herself. Their way of handling patients that are not cooperating is putting them in a wheel chair by the nurses station. Just sitting there with nothing to do!!!! Very sad!!! There is NO communication with family. I have not heard a word from them until yesterday when they informed me we would have to make arrangements in less then a week to have her in a new place. I was not informed of any changes in medication or the progress o her rehab.

CH Healthcare's facade is stunning, looks fabulous. On the surface all looked great; however, after a late night cell call from my mother who had been left alone in a wheelchair common area for hours without water, bathroom or assisted care I am re-thinking this place. They seem to be grossly understaffed. They unfortunately did not seem the concerned about that. Look around lots before deciding on this place, wish I had.

My husband was at Charlotte Harbor for rehab and they are excellent. The nurses are very attentive and very friendly.
