My husband ended up at the Indian River Center. Unfortunately, he was only there for two weeks before he passed away, but I found the people there to be very caring and concerned. They made sure that he was not in his room all the time. They got him out into this big area they had right by their nurse's desk where they could sit. If they were capable of communicating, that's what they did. They took care of him while he was eating and everything. They paid attention to him. They were very helpful. They had people coming in and sing.

my husband was there at the end of June until July and the place was terrible. The food had no taste there soup looked like dish water. He was dying in front of me. The nurse on duty is a joke (some) CNA;s have very little training. They would not allow me to take him out because they said I was unable to care for tehim. But I did get him out and he was able to stay at home his final days. Now I will file a complaint with DCF because of the treatment he received and I regret I wasn't more forceful and I should had gotten a lawyer involved. This is a terrible place.

My father is in rehab at Opis Indian River Center. One person recommended it to me. They provide good attention to my father. They're helping him with all his problems. The therapies are good, and the staff is good. The food is good, but my father would like it hotter. He can't do the activities, but they call me to ask him about what he likes. They have a gym, a garden, and a library. It's 2 minutes from the hospital.

My mother in has been in the building for five years always enjoy visiting her the staff has always been nice and I popped in at all times of the day but now that she's at the end of life I thought she should go to hospice house she didn't want to go that was the best decision the staff there has been so kind and caring I can't. Thank them enough

I didn't like Indian River Center at all. It was very dated like it hasn't been remodeled in years and years and years. It was very dark. It was like a hospital setting, with no homeyness to it at all. It was nothing that I would ever want my mother to be in because it was just stark, like a hospital bed, a little dresser, just no color or decoration or anything that would make it looked like home. The staff was very nice. They could improve by making their rooms a little homey by adding some color accents because it just was like you're putting somebody in a hospital bed there to die and they just don't care what anything looks like around them. The girl that showed me the facility was new, and she was very nice and friendly.

Indian River is a brand new building. They do take Medicaid. I would rather be in this place, but it is not worth my moving Leonard over there. It's a newer building, therefore it is cleaner. We went to a tour of the place, but I did not see one CNA. They do accept Medicaid, so I would recommend it.

Indian River was fine and organized; I was very satisfied with it. They have bingo and trips as part of their activities.

Indian River Center is a nice, very high class, but very expensive place. The gentleman that spoke with us told us that the people there were no less than 80 years old and older. They were all in the dining room with white linen tables, and the individuals were dressed for it.

We chose Indian River Center because even though it's an older building, it has excellent service, and everyone is super-nice. The room is very clean. My dad has a nice little wardrobe and a dresser. I am very pleased with the place.

My mother is currently a resident of the Caring Way section for Alzheimers residents. I am very satisfied with the treatment of my mom. Nurses are very caring and do whatever they can to make residents comfortable. It's not easy dealing with alzheimer patients.

This place has no regard for pati3nts or family. I was kicked out before my doc advised and went home to no equipment promised, no walker, commode or shower chair. They didn't schedule p.t. either which family had to do. They were rude to family and my nurse was condescending to me!! Do not take your loved one here ever!!!!

I’ve been very happy with Indian River. It’s a good facility. It was recommended by an organization I called online. I didn’t see anybody unhappy, mistreated, or neglected. The place was spotless. I had great help in the admin office. She was very cooperative and helped me with Medicaid. The food is good.

My husband was at Indian River for quite a while after he left the hospital. He had a broken leg and he was in recovery. But we weren’t that happy. They didn't have anybody on duty sometimes at night. My husband fell out of bed. The other man who was in the next bed to him called to the nurse but nobody answered, and my husband was lying on the floor. So he called the front office and they took him to the hospital for an x-ray. They didn't call me. By the time I got over there, he was ready to go back. He had fallen again and hit his head. It was a big thing. People were telling me I had to sue them for their neglect and the fact that he was injured. The nurses were nice, but there weren't enough at night. They don't listen to the buzzer. It's a nice and well-kept facility. They are just short staffed. Nursing homes patients need a lot of attention. The food was not very good either. We had dinner there once. They gave him a slice of white bread with a meal.

I moved my mom in Indian River Center last week. It was in line with the memory clinic that I had been taking my mom to. It’s been a week and a day, but overall I’m 100% satisfied. Again, in one week and a day, everybody seemed to be going out of their way to help her. She is in a shared room. She went from the hospital to there, and they put her on a pureed food; she didn’t agree with it at all. They finally got her back on solid food yesterday. She gobbled it all up, so evidently it’s good. They’ve got activities for them. She’ll be involved in them, but just little at a time; she’s just getting back on her feet. It’s the cleanliness that impressed me.

Indian River Center was one of the options that my mother's insurance company offered. It was on Sunday when I toured this facility so I didn't speak to the administrator but someone else gave me a tour of the facility. It was a large and lovely place. It was all on the ground and it didn't have any stairs. There was a garden that residents could go out and sit. It's secure, so they couldn't leave the facility and I like that. They even have a chapel for those who wanted their religious activities. There were different groups of clients based on their needs. The staff seemed to be working well with their clients. For activities, there were game rooms where some residents were doing activities, while others were watching TV in another area. There were also some patients in a more secure area having lunch together. They had three or four attendants in there with them to assist those who couldn't actually eat by themselves.

I was a short term resident of this facility for Re-hab . But, I had been a visitor for my husband who was a resident of the facility for 20 months in their Alzheimer's Unit. When I was admitted to the hospital, two days before Christmas last year I was very ill. I needed re-had before I could return home. I, myself, called this facility and asked if they had a bed available in their facility for me. Immediately got a resounding "yes". So when the doctor said I was ready to go to re-hab, I told him to call Indian River Center, to make the arrangement. From the very moment I entered the facility I felt that I was at home! The place was very clean, the food delicious, and the workers, from the nurses to the cleaning staff the best! I would recommend this facility to any and all of my friends and to all that need a facility to place their loved one. IT IS THE VERY BEST IN THIS AREA!!!!
