My grandmother is now in The Villages Rehab & Nursing Center. I like the physical therapy program that they have and occupational therapy. The thing that I don't like is the cleanliness, it's a little lacking. They had somebody come in and clean her restroom, and all they did was clean the toilet, they left feces on the walls and the grab bars. So I was disappointed with their lack, they only come in to clean her room once a week. The rooms were a decent size, and they have all the little amenities and stuff that you need, they don't have a refrigerator but they have a TV, then they have like a couple of little dressers and a couple of chairs in there. The staff is good as far as her physical therapy goes like the CNAs and the nurses, it's just the cleaning service like the janitors that don't do their job. They provide three meals a day plus snacks, you could ask them for extra stuff. I haven't tried the food but it looks decent. They have a little calendar that's posted in every hallway and then one in every patient's room. And they try to do little activities each day like they'll have arts and crafts day or they'll have like movie night, stuff like that. So they usually have like one or two things going on every day.

This place took incredible care of my loved one. Everyone is friendly, helpful and had positive attitudes. They have patient advocates that have been very helpful in our future planning.

They left my dad to die. When we Walked in and found my father non responsive, we called his doctor who recommended we called 911... When EMS arrived, the staff member yelled at us that we should have called them first. Had they been doing their job, we would not have had to. This staff was more interested in playing with one of the staff members baby in the hallway, outside the covid wing, instead of taking care of their patients. Still waiting for a call from Miss Debbie, the owner, but conveniently she went on vacation the day after my dad passed... One of the EMS that picked him up said that they get more calls from this facility than all the others combined.

My brother is staying at The Villages Rehab & Nursing Center. It's been good and the therapies have been helping him. I haven't tried the food, but my brother seems to like it. The amenities are pretty basic, they have a couple of community areas where people can gather and eat their meals, and they have a gym there. It's not quite on par with the other senior living I toured, but it does what it does. It's for rehabilitation and nursing, so it's a different experience. The staff is good, the social worker, therapists, they answer my questions. The cleanliness and upkeep is very good. In fact, when you go there, they're very strict about the COVID protocol. You definitely have to have a mask, definitely have to sign a form, and definitely have to have their temperature taken. They won't even let you in the door until that's all done.

...Don't send your love ones here. They are painfully understaffed. wrong information given by those in charge. My loved one was left in wet diapers for hours, was also not given pain meds for hours and developed an infection. No-one on the floor one evening. We transferred them out to another facility. I would not send a dog here and would give it a zero if I could. Some staff were kind but due to being so understaffed could not do their job properly.

The food is terrible. The staff never responds to calls at a timely manner. The rooms are tiny and not well kept. The therapy staff is good but not properly administered to a person trying to get rehabilitated from surgery. The night staff in totally non functional at night. very rude and Lazy.

The rehab staff is wonderful. Made it a special point to call and report to me as soon as the evaluation of my Mom was completed. The rooms are comfortably set up. And the staff seems knowledgeable.

The trained therapist staff is exceptionable. They know their stuff. But everything else is terrible. The attitude of the staff is terrible. They ignore requests for pain meds, ignore pleas of patients needing help. You can wait at least an hour or longer sometimes for a CNA to come to you room.
They are understaffed and extremely unprofessional. No one seems to be in charge.
When you ask someone to help they it is not their role and do not offer to find someone for you. Patient are left on the. Lounge calling for help to go back to their rooms and the staff just walks around them. Terrible!

My sister-in-law stayed at The Villages Rehab & Nursing Center. She was doing OK. It's just that her breathing got worse, and they had to send her back to the hospital. She was very pleased with the staff at The Villages. She said the food was fine, and everything seemed fine, but nobody could visit because of COVID. From what I have seen, it was nice and well taken care of, and my sister-in-law said it was accommodating.

DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. It is Feb. 9th, 2021, my dad was at this place, The Villages Rehab and Nursing Center, for about 20 days. I believe it is because of this facility and their lack of response to my dad's wife's communication, protocols and care for my dad this all contributed to his passing away on Feb. 1st. I am heartbroken and I am devastated by the care he received (or really did not receive) here. If I could rate The Villages Rehab and Nursing Center a ZERO I would. Due to COVID, family cannot be in the room with the patients AND my Dad was not able to advocate for himself. Because of this, I think they let him slide and didn't monitor his care and make sure he was OK. No one was watching. He sat in a wheelchair for hours at a time. The therapy wasn't regular enough and not working on his legs, getting him up multiple times every day, which he needed. His wife didn't receive responses to her multiple requests for information on his care. They have a "portal" to see what is happening and medications being administered, but she could not figure out how to log on, and they said they would help her, but did not. He was just another patient they had to deal with in my mind. I live in another state and was not able to be there. His wife told me this place had 5-star rating (which, if you read, seem sort of fake/ manufactured to bring up their rating) and she is also SO UPSET. She is 80 years old and not one to write reviews. I rarely if ever write reviews, but feel this is my duty. I'm writing this because I wish I had known. I wish I had investigated this place more thoroughly before my dad was sent here from the hospital. He was a beloved man and he was not well, but I think if the nurses and doctors here had really cared and been on top of his care, he could still be alive today.

When one visits a rehab facility, the appearance of the facility provides no insight as to the care that will be provided and most rating systems are useless and baseless. Herein lies the real issues one is likely to experience. This facility has a few CNA's (those that provide the daily care of the patient) that are very good, however, the bulk of them are almost worthless. Rehab staff seems to be excellent. Several horror stories regarding my wife's stay were inexcusable. Even after meeting in person with members of the senior staff, nothing changed and some very poor CNA's are still working there and delivering the same indifferent sorry service to their patients. Many despicable incidents are kept from senior management making the clueless about what goes on there. Weekend and nights are the worst.

This will be long but you are getting a very abbreviated version. I can't begin to tell you how this facility gave my family and my family member peace of mind.
My family member has been here for about 3 weeks after leaving a facility that had made some major mistakes with his care. We were panic stricken trying to find another facility to accept him and were facing having him come home prematurely if we were unsuccessful.
He absolutely loves it!
The rehab and nursing staff are are knowledgeable and caring. He is progressing well and in good spirits.
The semi-private room he resides in has a half wall which gives it the feeling of privacy. I love that there are no germ-filled privacy curtains here!
The food is very good and it is reasonably priced for us to eat a full meal with drinks and desert with him.
We are a family of many healthcare professionals and neither we nor my family member has any complaints!
A giant "Thank you" to Debbie Brazil, the administrator, for saving my family member from the facility we fled. I don't know what we would have done without you pushing things to move forward.
Shout out to admissions director and the admission nurse You, along with all the staff I have encountered, are all valuable assets to the community!
As not only a family member, but a nurse that has worked in healthcare in some capacity for over 20 years, I'd encourage everyone to place this facility in their top 3. Don't take unnecessary chances because you know the field.

I recently had the privilege of undergoing rehabilitation at this facility and the results were EXCELLENT!!! The experience was exceptional from the moment I walked in and saw the PT gym and the OT ADL workspace. The level of activity and engagement were amazing and greatly encouraging to me. My actual experience with the therapists exceeded my first impressions and I will be forever grateful for everything.
Speaking of everything I would be remiss if I didn’t give kudos to the nursing services and their dedication to my health and well-being, to housekeeping and their keeping my room and facilities clean and sanitized, to the food services and the great food and environment they created as a place of comradeship for the residents, and most of all to the administration for establishing and directing such a great team of professionals.

Had a family member placed in facility after a fall. Overall, room was clean and CNAs and Nurses were helpful. PR, however, have therapists that are bullies, and force residents to do rather apt beyond their endurance. My family member had deteriorated, with the onset of new problems, after treatment at the facility .

The worse care I’ve ever seen. They don’t have a Neurologist and still treated the person who was a patient there. The cna’s are too busy cooking to take care of patients morning 8-9:30. Lunch 10:30- 1-pm dinner 5-6:30
So if you need care it’s not available. The place expects you do everything yourself. Did not get a shower until the day before he left their 4 weeks.
When you get discharged they make you wait 3 days and then they don’t have your medicines called in
Not a easy transition when your dealing with your love ones health issues. Said ordered equipment or home health care until they were called 3 times. To get order. They probably order and keep equipment
I had nothing but bad experience there. Would not recommend to anyone
I saw patients who came in and week later worse and in comatos states from the drugs
It might look and sound good but believe me it’s not
It’s not a nursing facilities

My husband was in The Villages. He's 91, but was as healthy as anybody in their 60s. One night he fell and sprained the side of his leg, so the doctor thought it'd be good for him to get rehabilitation to strengthen his muscles. Within three weeks he was better and we thought he was ready to go home. Then he stated having diarrhea, and it continued for four weeks before they did anything and gave him antibiotics. During those four weeks he got too weak to even sit up in bed, and they did nothing to help him. They let him go since they couldn't do anything for him. He wasn't quarantined and was sitting with the other patients, which I didn't know he shouldn't be doing. The food was tasty, but it was institutional food with big pieces. There was no dietary program and the residents were eating the same food when some were diabetic, and others had heart conditions. The room was semi-private, but they have a wall between the two beds which gives the residents privacy, they share a bathroom, and closets. The cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The floors were tiled and sometimes it felt sticky. The place looks dreary and I was not impressed. The only good thing about them is their rehabilitation, they have excellent therapists, but they can only do so much.

The rehab and therapy department of The Villages was exceptional. The community itself was very good and the grounds were nice. My parents' only complaint was the food, and that there should be better staffing on the third shift. Other than that, everything was excellent, the therapy team, the first, and second shift people were fantastic. The CNAs, social worker, the director, and administrators were all excellent.

I gave admitting nurse my husband's antibiotics. There is no record that he ever received them. The PT was excellent, I reported the antibiotic mishap to administration and didn't receive and answer. I would still have a family member go there, but keep my eye on the nursing duties.

The Villages Rehab will not be recommended to anyone by me, ever. While their physical therapy is good, their skilled nursing abilities are poor. My mom suffered COPD and CHF. The hospital released her without an oxygen order. I had to demand a concentrator. Once one was brought to the room I left for the night. I returned the next morning, no oxy on. The pt guy walked in at the same time, checked her oxy, it was 78 ! They completely ignored her CHF symptoms, never giving her the lasiks which she took for the previous 12 months. Moms last night there I received a call at 11 pm, saying her stats were not improving and they were calling the ambulance. I got to the hospital at 11:15, at 11:55 she was not there. I called the nurse to see if I was at the right hospital, she told me she just called the ambulance two minutes ago. She had paperwork to do before calling!! Days before I had asked that same nurse about why my mom was so sensitive to the touch. She told me to Google it. There was one nurse on third, Sam who gave my mom excellent care, and is in the right job for the right reasons.

My mom just was released after 3 months. If you are here for the rehab it is a good facility. My mom needed more of the skilled nursing part and it does not exist. The nursing section is understaffed and overworked. There is no response to the pulling of the cord for assistance. Wait time could be as long as 45 minutes. She fell three times while here. Contracted pneumonia twice which I asked to have someone listen to her chest after hearing a rattle and cough. Problems were reported to upper management with little to no change! If you want piece of mind for your loved one this is not the place!

My cousin is in The Villages Rehab. I like its convenience to us. The nurses are OK. The sanitation is excellent. They play bingo, cards, arts & crafts, and happy hour. They have a nice outside area where they can cook out. I eat up there, and the food is good. Everybody seems to be nice. The apartments are nice and roomy.
