The Edgewater Health and Rehabilitation Center, is a Florida licensed skilled nursing home, that serves those living in Mount Dora, Eustis, Tavares, Leesburg, Sorrento, Lake County and Central Florida areas. The Edgewater Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Dora, compassionately provides:

My husband is moving into Waterman Village tomorrow. He already stayed there in the past, we were satisfied with them then, and their rating is good. The service is good, we didn't have any problem with that at all, it was during the time that you were allowed to be in there before this virus scare came in, so I went anytime I wanted to, and helped what I could do, it was very satisfactory. They did the physical therapy, and part of the physical therapy is sort of a mental test while standing, they have cork boards there, and they have to match up different pictures and things. It was partly physical and memory care. They had some group therapy, I sat in one session, and it was very good.

Edgewater at Waterman Village's food was very good. My mother-in-law was in rehab there twice and it was very good, but the care was not that great. It's an older place, and the overall nursing staff wasn't that great, but the rehab staff was very good. My mother-in-law fell twice there because they just don't watch them as closely as they should. My mom's room is shared and it's very small. It looks like it used to be one room and they turned it into two. They have music, Bingo, games, and church services.

My mother (and father before his death) has resided at Waterman Village since 2001, living independently until my mother suffered a stroke in the year following my father's death. She then moved to Edgewater for rehab from the stroke. In the 18 months she has been there additional cerebral accidents have meant the need for more care. She is now in her own private room in the long term care unit.
My brothers and I visit on random schedules and have always found her well cared-for in a cleaning and affirming atmosphere. The meals are all prepared by the main Waterman kitchen, which means soups from scratch, diverse offerings (my mother makes her own choices for every meal .... with a long list of alternatives always available).
Most important, at almost 95 with her life-partner now on the other side and her home of many years now a memory, she is happy and greets days with a pleasant anticipation.
We would also note that while a chaplain program provides for most spiritual needs, my mother's more liberal religious views are always respected. In fact, I have found that all residents, in all ways, are respected.
Our family could not be more pleased with Edgewater.

Edgewater was really nice, big rooms, and very clean. They have a rehab, nursing home and assisted living, and we saw them all. At the rehab and nursing home, it was a shared room. At the assisted living, they were all private rooms.

I visited 5 other rehab facilities and was starting to despair. Edgewater was the last on my list of possibles. what a difference! The residents seemed happy, were dressed and groomed and clean. the facility was attractive. I was unannounced and was given a tour of the rooms, but was allowed to go where I pleased. It was clean and the staff was friendly. My father stayed there 3 weeks. The staff gave him personalized therapy and I can't think of a complaint to make about them. They did a great job, and my family is not sorry we chose them.

Waterman Village is affiliated with a hospital where my mother-in-law was at. They did have assisted care, long-term, plus there was an area where you can still live in a little house. The nursing home facility was clean and there was no bad odor. It seemed very nice. The staff was all very nice. Their rooms were beautiful. When we were there, they were having some entertainment by a local artist and he was fantastic. All the patients seemed like they were happy. The only reason why we didn't consider this one was because my husband didn't want to pursue it.

I had toured and visited Waterman Village a few times. It was a full care community which means when you start you would live in a kind of a row house apartment. Then they had a continuing care if you would need it and then they had an Alzheimer's unit. The apartment was beautiful. It was light and airy. There were lights in all direction. It's very spacious. It's delightful. As far as I can tell, the staff was very nice. I had talked to them in some of my visits and I had attended some affairs there and I saw the staff was very pleasant and caring. The dining room is nice and they had great choice and fantastic food. There were lots of good activities, some more mental and some more physical. They had a long bowling range and an indoor swimming pool. I would recommend this community to others.

The first time I visited the facility I noticed that the security was in place, yet not overwhelming. The grounds and landscaping were very nice. The facility was clean and modern, very well kept with a nice dining room for the guests. My friend had broken his hip and had an extended stay there, I believe a month and a half. He was very happy with the staff and said they were very friendly and made him feel comfortable staying there. I witnessed "meal time" and the meals were presented on time and looked nutritional. He really seemed to have a good rapport with the Physical Therapist who almost became a friend to him. The room had all the conveniences that most anyone would need, including T.V. chair for guests and all the alarms and buttons that would allow him to call for help if he needed it. The only thing that my friend wasn't too happy with is the fact that he missed his post op doctor's appointment one day and had to ride in the van for hours before they returned to the facility. Seems as though they were short handed in the drivers department. Other than that he enjoyed his stay as much as anyone could under those conditions.

My Mother was there for almost 6 years. The facility has caring, personable staff that treated mother like family. They were very attentive to all of her needs. Facility is clean. Dr. Nurses, Social Worker, and Recreation Director as well as Administrative Staff. They were compassionate.
They are Christian. Non-denominational. Have a chaplain on staff. They let us know what mother needed and kept in touch. I live 2 1/2 hours away and with some health challenges, could not travel. I thank God they adopted mother like their own. It gave me peace knowing this, and I did not worry how she was being treated because I saw first hand how loving they were.
