Sad for my family member

I had a family member stay at this facility since 2017, first in assisted living but in memory care for the last year. The care really degraded over time to a point where they were charging $27 a day/$810 month to administer 5-6 medications yet failed to do so and did not even alert the family. One of the medication was for stroke! They also charge $$$ for incontinence care yet too many times, we saw my family member lay in soiled bed. I don't think they would have changed and help clean her if I did not visit. I finally moved my family member out and requested a refundable deposit. For two months, the director avoided my call and the refund the deposit. I typically do not write reviews and give people benefit of doubt but this is a pretty bad case. One does not expect such poor care at any place let alone from a provider who charges so much. And it's just unprofessional to not return calls. Every consumers ought to know before deciding on care for their loved one.

Sunrise of Santa Monica was a very beautiful facility, but they said they couldn't handle my wife. They treated us very nice. If my wife didn't have memory problems and we could afford it, it would be a beautiful place to stay. The food menu looked good. Everything was very nice.
