My mom will be moving to Brunswick Village. We just loved it when we walked in. The atmosphere was like a family home, it wasn't like a facility. The staff was very welcoming, the residents all looked like they were very happy and well cared for, and there were activities going on. The restaurant smelled fabulous when we walked by that. We really liked it and I think they're an excellent place. The staff who gave the tour explained everything in detail and made us feel very welcome. We didn't try the food, but we looked at the menu and what they're having, and it smelled amazing, like a really great restaurant. They had an outdoor space for sitting outside that's protected from the elements but still open. They have a central courtyard. They also had rooms for different things. When I was there they had chair yoga for the elderly there and that was great. The people wandering around were wonderful. They had a room for church services if somebody wanted to do that. It sounds like they have all the bases covered.

My mother has been at Brunswick Village for about a month now. We chose it because it was nearby and the staff was amazing. The rooms are very spacious and very nice.

The people at Brunswick Village were friendly. It wasn't as big as some of the others. It was so much similar to all of the others that I really can't say there is a big difference, but it was very nice and very clean. They were helpful and the people seemed happy. I toured their assisted living. I only saw two people from the staff and they were fine. They were helpful and kind. The facilities were very nice, just not as elaborate as some of the others. They had a courtyard. They were on actual lockdown because there were some COVID cases so I couldn't see a lot. The place is close to downtown.

Brunswick Village was nice to me but it looked more like a hotel. The man who showed us around was wonderful and everybody that we spoke with there seemed very nice too. To me, it seemed more like assisted living than independent living. Some of the residents were up watching a movie or something. They took us there and I just didn't see the same enthusiasm with the residents there that I did at the other place I visited. I guess it would depend on what somebody was needing but to me, the people there seemed to need more care than what my mom is needing. It was very clean and nice but it just wasn't the same as the other one I saw. It had a patio area that was landscaped nicely. On the inside, that day when we were there, they were playing bingo. The room they showed us was one large room and a bathroom.

I toured many facilities in the area and Brunswick Village is the one I chose because it has excellent staff, was very clean, the food was great and it was on the smaller size so more attention is given to the residents. My friend has dementia and the care she is given is so great that she often calls me to make sure that she can stay there. She is very happy and adjusted well and quickly and does not want to leave. They keep me informed on her condition as well as any needs that she might have. I am able to visit her any day any time and she can stay in the community that she loves.

I went to Brunswick Village. I liked the people there. I was a little bit worried that it was a Mardi Gras party and there were a lot of people in the main lobby not wearing masks. This was in February and I'm not sure that it was my aunt's cup of tea. The staff member who gave me the tour was wonderful. It seemed like a really friendly place. Of course, it's hard to tell with everything kind of shutdown with COVID. The dining room was shut down. They offered me some tea, but I could tell they were very busy with this Mardi Gras Party going on and people coming and going. They seemed to offer quite a few things. I did like that it was smaller in size. I think they only have fifty-four residents. I didn't like that they did not have wearable emergency buttons available to their residents. They were clean, but kind of on the dark side, up against the bluff.

The people at Brunswick Village Assisted Living were very nice and friendly, but my mother just wasn't happy there. She wasn't able to face the transition at the time. The food was pretty bad, and it was a little noisy. There was not much outside space where you could walk around. The outside space was just a little courtyard and it had a lot of edges to it. My mother is sight impaired, so it was a tripping hazard for her. She's an outside person and she likes to just sit out in the sun or take walks, and there really is very limited outside activity space. It wasn't always super clean. The rugs were pretty dirty and they needed to be replaced. It's an older facility and a lot of the things were worn out. It was a better price than other places and they did an awful lot for the people there.

I loved the lady who showed me around Brunswick Village. She's very helpful and very sweet, she loved her clients, and she knew them all by name and interacted with them. The rooms were just too small; they didn't have kitchenettes, and they just had a bedroom with a twin bed and a bathroom. They didn't have a lot of extra room. I ate there, and the food was very adequate and fine. The residents seemed very happy; they're laughing, and they seemed active. I liked the staff and the location.

Brunswick Village was absolutely wonderful. It was older but homey and catered to older people. That would have been my choice. I thought it was a lovely place, and the warmth and closeness was better than in other places I'd seen.

My mother is at Brunswick Village. The food is excellent. I have eaten with her, and they actually invite families to do that. Every time I come and visit, they invite us to come eat with them. We do not always do that, but the person in charge, Christy, is very good as far as I can tell. They really try hard to encourage my mother to participate in activities, and they have a lot of them. They have ice cream social events. They have movie days. Church choirs come in, and they have church services. They have a huge library. They have movies and books that residents can check out. They have somebody who comes in daily and plays the piano and takes requests from the residents. It is very new and very clean. Her room is fine. She is sharing a room because she cannot afford to be in a room by herself. It is nice. They make sure that it is well-kept. Her bathroom is big. There is room for a wheelchair to go in and out of the shower part of it. It is very modern, and I do not think you are going to get anything better.
