Elk Grove Park seems good. It's a smaller setup. A care home was too small for her, and other places were too big, but this one has cottages with 15 people each. So, they have more people available right there to help and they have a lot of activities. It seems nice so far, and it's a really beautiful place.
They have a walking club, exercises, bingo, memory games, and card games. They also bring people in from outside the community to do presentations about different things. Then they have movie nights and social hours. Every day their calendar is pretty full. It keeps them pretty busy, which is good because that's what my mom needs at this point to keep her mind active.

Even though I already visited, the lady that I've been dealing with, Gabriela, wanted to do a video tour to refresh my memory. That was nice because when I went over it the first time they didn't have a studio that had furniture in it so I could see how it looked. When I went there I only saw an empty apartment, but it was nice, clean, a good size for my mom, and even a little bigger than her current room. My mom needs social interaction, but the residents in her current community don't speak. During the tour, when I was in the cottage, several other residents talked to me and it made me think that this place would be lovely for Mom. The thing that impressed me most with this place was that when looking at their activities list they had more going out things to do, like field trips and guest speakers.

My grandmother moved in. It's a lot cozier than a lot of the nursing homes, and she felt pretty comfortable there. They have a variety of activities, the food is pretty good, of good quality, and there's variety.

I liked it very much. The food was good. The director was nice, explained the cost, and took me on a tour. I sat with some of the residents and had lunch with them. They're well taken care of, and the staff looks after them. Some of them had wheelchairs, but they're really happy. They were having a memory game when I was there, and a lot of them were participating. They have a bus that takes them to shopping, movies, and dinner. They are not bored there. It was clean and beautiful. They had some good staff members who had been there for a long time.

It meets all my mother's needs and everything is working out fine. The food is okay and I've been very pleased with them. They do bingo and outdoor activities where they go on little field trips. She has participated and she's been happy with them. There have been a couple of food issues that she had and it wasn't to her liking, but overall it's been fine. They've got little cottages, so it's a much smaller scale group of people that you see on a regular basis.

My sister found it for my father, but I really liked the village style of the place. The staff was helpful and friendly. The facilities are great, they do road trips, and they have a lot of music.

I visited and they were courteous. Their verbiage was polite and the way they use their words and how they spoke made a big difference. The room was really nice. I think about getting my wife in there. She needs assisted living because of her dementia and Alzheimer's. They have pretty much a gated community, which means you couldn't get out anytime, so I was happy. We came in the evening, we saw the meals, and everybody was properly placed. It was orderly. It wasn't like there was chaos. Feeding people every day was a routine to them, which made it easy.

My mother-in-law moved in on December 1st. They have been very good. They are very nice, efficient, and take good care of her. There are a lot of activities available, but she does not participate in a whole lot. At her age, she is not interested, but they do have a lot of activities that are available for the residents. The room is small but accommodates everything she needs, and it is easy to go around the room. I like the small cottage atmosphere as opposed to the multi-level large facility. She does not walk nor see well, and having to navigate to an elevator is just not going to work.

We liked it; it was more home-like than other places we visited. We like the concept of it having cottages instead of rooms like a hotel. When we were there, they had some musicians come in. They have a theatre where they show movies, which I really like. The staff seemed extremely friendly.

They had a lot of personalized care. It was a smaller setting, and it didn't seem like there were many people. It's in a residential area, and they had a really nice outdoor setting. The rooms were fairly small, but adequate. The staff seemed very personal and helpful to the residents. The location was OK, but a little further than where we wanted to go.

I loved the staff. They actually interacted with other staff members. No matter whether they were management or whatever, they knew all of the patients' names. Having been a human resource director for over 20 years, that was very important to me. It was just very nice and very home-like, so it was wonderful. The room is very nice, and it's in a cottage. It's not a sterile, hotel-type situation with maybe seven other rooms around it.

It was very welcoming and homey. I felt very comfortable as soon as I walk in there. It's more for respite care and they don't have an adult day care program. But the people are nice, caring, professional, and very respectful of people with Alzheimer's. This is a place I would not hesitate to put my mother in if I could afford an assisted living facility.

Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I feel like being prepared was a good idea, so I visited. Laura gave me a tour of the facility. She was excellent and incredibly kind to my mom. She showed us one of the little cottages. When my mom is ready, I think she would be in a lock down cottage because of her Alzheimer's. But each cottage is very nice with its own dining room. It's homey and upbeat and not like an old people's home. There were like 12 people in a cottage and the same 12 people would be watching TV in the main hall, or eat in the same dining room. I thought that kind of routine is what my mom need.

I talked to a few people living there, and they all talked about how friendly the staff was. They were helpful at all times of the day, no matter what the request was. The facilities look very nice, and once my grandfather needs a nice place to live, I'm sure we'll give this place a more thorough visit. The residents just look happy here.
