My father was in the hospital and needed to go to skilled nursing We visited one facility and I did not want him to go there. We then went to the skilled nursing unit at the Forum and were so pleased to find this facility. Kimberly met us as we got off the elevator and showed us around and I knew this was the place. The staff was wonderful. Thank you so much to Kimberly, Physical Therapist Crystal and occupational therapist Truly. A big thank you to the the patient aides Olga, Marilyn, Murana, Lorna. Also thanks to Lisa and Mary the social worker for all your help. Also thanks to Aaron the speech therapist for keeping us on our toes. I highly recommend this facility. My Dad is doing so much better because of his 3 week stay here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

The Forum at Desert Harbor is very nice. My sister is in skilled nursing there. They have a very good staff. The place is well maintained. It's a large facility where you can age in place. They have skilled nursing, assisted living, and independent living all in one very large complex. The price is reasonable. They have a beauty shop, physical therapy, a gym, recreation areas, group activities, and transportation. The rooms are nice sized. You can get anything from studio apartments to two-bedroom apartments. She's wheelchair bound most of the time and the wheelchair access to the rooms and within the rooms are very good there. They have a number of dining areas in different complexes. Everything is first class.

My wife has moved into The Forum at Desert Harbor. She is basically there to do her physical therapy and to get well. Her room is very pleasant. Our experience with them has been extremely positive so far. We are very happy with everything about the place. It couldn't be any better. Food is great. The staff members are excellent. They're fabulous. They're just the best.

My father was in a nursing home called The Forum, and it was good. The doctor that was over the care was actually my dad’s primary doctor at the time. The rooms were nice and big -- a little private.
The dining was nice and bright. They have physical therapy and some respiratory therapy. The staff was very friendly, they expressed that they were overstaffed, and the RN was working a 15hr shift, but the care they gave and the assessment they did were good.

My grandmother was treated very well at this living facility. 3 square meals a day, and luxurious apartments. Before my grandmother had passed, she was assisted day in and day out by her caretaker Susan. Susan and her staff made sure that my grandmother was dressed, and was active even though that she did have Alzheimer's she was treated with both respect, and was treated as equally as the others. The Forum is a great place for the elderly to stay, or anyone who needs assisted living to stay. Its up to date, maintained, and is all about catering, and creating a great living experience for both the tenant,as well as the families or friends.

The Forum at Desert Harbor is a great facility, I work with many of the residents that live there so I am there quite a lot. Residents are a great source of information when it comes to finding out about a facility, because they watch and listen to what is going on around them. I always ask them how everything is and if they are happy and I am relieved to say that I hear more residents say they are happy than not! I have come to expect some complaints so I have to determine whether or not the complaints are valid, because believe me, I have had some residents who complain just because they love to complain! However, it is my duty to make sure the residents are happy and cared for, so I do look in to every complaint I hear. I can say that most of the complaints I have received about The Forum are very menial, for example. one resident wished that there were more orange-colored flowers outside, another resident complained that his bed was not being made properly because it wasn't made to military-specifications. Small things like that, and let me tell you, I love hearing those type of complaints because it means that there is not any serious types of neglect, abuse, or rights violations happening. If the residents are complaining about the paint color on the walls it usually is because there is nothing serious to complain about, and that is a great thing!
The facility itself is really nice, it is always clean and it smells good. The staff knows each resident by name, which I always look for, and they are always smiling, even when it's busy. I have observed the staff on many of my visits and they work very well with the residents, and I have had many residents tell be that the staff members are very easy to talk to. Even of all the resident feedback, I am still very confident in The Forum as a senior living community. They, generally provide very caring service to the residents and I think that they offer the residents many options to keep busy and stay active. The scheduled activities are creative and fun, there are many things for the residents to do inside and outside of the facility and I really believe that The Forum provides each resident with a safe and accommodating home.
The residents apartments are nicely sized and they have complete little kitchen areas. Residents are able to bring their pets with them which is a huge benefit, so that upon moving in, residents do not have to face the possibility of parting with their pet, which can be very traumatic for some individuals.
I think my favorite and least favorite thing about the facility itself is that it has lakefront property, the residents literally have acres of a lake right outside their doors, and I thinks its lovely that many of the views from inside the facility and resident apartments are that lake views. However, it worries me a lot, because a resident could wander off and literally walk right into the water and may be too weak to swim or cannot swim at all, and it could be some time before anyone notices them missing. Accidents happen around the water everyday and while I think that the lake is beautiful, it is highly dangerous and I think a bit inappropriate to have so close to an assisted living facility. There is a railing, but it doesn't seem all that secure, I think that the residents could get around the railing if they wanted to, I know I could. I have found several ways that a resident could sneak back by the water without anyone seeing.
Mealtime at The Forum is a fun experience. The residents appear to really enjoy dining together and the dining room always smells great. They often provide a form of entertainment with dinner, whether it is a stand-up comedian or musicians, etc. I don't know of any other facility that does this unless it is a holiday or special occasion, but for them to do it on a regular weekday it pretty neat. There are many menu options they seem to use very fresh ingredients. I have overheard so many residents bragging about the food to friends, family members, and other visitors.
I really believe that The Forum is a good and safe assisted living home, the residents all appear happy and comfortable and the residents and staff get along with each other really well. They offer the residents quite a bit of convenience and support. Other than the lake, I really do not have anything negative to say about the facility or the staff, so I would suggest visiting The Forum and seeing if they are able to accommodate your individual needs. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with what you find.
