What I liked best at BridgeWater Assisted Living Deer Valley was the open courtyard that allowed them to go outside and wander around in a larger area. It was totally ramped. I like the entrance area, where they can sit and congregate in an open floor plan that was very large, inviting, and non-clinical in appearance. I like the restaurant area. It looked like a restaurant area and not a cafeteria, so that was good. They unfortunately didn't have a library. Their books were scattered throughout the floor. They didn't have a reading room or anything like that. As far as their security, I wasn't really crazy about the fact that the guest could leave through the emergency exits, and the door is open with a lock (so they could step outside to smoke a cigarette). It kind of worried me because there was no notification when the doors were open. For memory care issues, that didn't really throw me a whole lot. It was an older facility. The rooms were basically a bedroom and a bathroom. It didn't hold the same level. The staff were kind of blunt. They seemed a little burned out.

I really wanted Bridge Water Assisted Living for my brother. It was really modern, and the food was excellent, but I had a lot of problems with the admission staff. The room was nicely appointed, so you actually felt you live in a space instead of a box. I thought it was an excellent, very cheerful, and colorful place. They had a nice crafts room, social room, and an exercise room.

BridgeWater is nice, clean, small, and not overcrowded. There's a nice courtyard and an event coordinator who's starting to do more activities, so things are good. The dining area is clean, well-run, and food comes out quick and tasty. My grandfather has been living there for two months.
