My mother stayed in Bayberry Skilled Nursing and Healthcare for a couple of weeks. The physical therapist and the occupational therapist were really wonderful. They have activities although mom didn't take advantage of them. The place was kind of a veteran's home, there were lots of them and a lot of residents hanging out on their wheelchairs. They had some games, bingo, and they had an ice cream social. The place itself was clean though not necessarily spacious. Mom didn't like the food, but she didn't like it at the hospital or at home either. I would rate the therapists a 5 out of 5, but the nursing and administration I would give a rating of 3. Mom had a terrible roommate, and after the 4th day I tried getting her moved to another room. The administrative staff weren't really receptive and tried talking me out of that. So, the administrative people really had a hard time being able to connect with us.

I was in the need of a nursing home inbetween my stays at the hospitals. I had the pleasure of staying at Bayberry. Not only did they take care of my medical needs but they handled the emotional needs of a young woman who had lost her mobility. The food was excellent, the therapy I recieved was good and the employees went out of their way to help me with my daily tasks that I found difficult. Although I depended on the nurses so much, some how through their kindness and understanding I kept my dignity.
