We are going to use Country Meadows of Mechanicsburg for my mother. It has been a family-owned business for over 50 years now. So the stability of one ownership is very encouraging. We went there and we all liked it. It's very friendly. They call their patients neighbors, and we like that. It's a little dated, but it doesn't matter. They're very caring. My mother can be in her room, but it's still close to where everything's at. It's also convenient for the three of us to be able to visit her. We would like a private room. I don't think it's going to work well with Mom having a better roommate. They have several floors. We were not able to get the room we looked at, which we wanted because it has a half wall, which made it more private than just a one-room. The staff who accommodated me was very friendly, informative, and thoughtful. She answered all our questions. All of us sat at the table for an hour talking to the lady. The other thing about the food is that they give them a choice and they show it to them because people with dementia need extra care.
