Prairie House Assisted Living and Memory Care was a good place, and they treated mom well. It's just that it became too expensive for us. The facility was great, the staff was great, they took care of her, and everybody was really nice. It was nice and very clean; it was always clean. The facility is modern and big. They were always there when she needed anything. Everyone was so nice and kind, and they really treated her well. They were always doing some activity. They did painting, they have spa days, and they do stuff like that. The value was good for the money, but we just couldn't handle that expense every month.

The staff does not communicate wit each other regarding resident needs or care. We have addressed this issue but nothing changes. Mom requires hearing aides to hear. She purchased new ones just about 3 months after she moved in but 2 months later one came up missing never found. They donated some from a resident that passed away. We bought rechargeable batteries & a charging cord for the charger. Since so many of the residents wander into other residents rooms kept the charging station at the nurse's station. Simple instructions for the staff - take them out at night & put them on the charging station - in the morning put them in her ears so she can hear. It worked for a couple of months but here we go again. My brother came to visit from out of state got there about 10 - 10:30 am no hearing aides in. Now one of the rechargeable hearing aides are missing. Tried to talk to the manager of the facility but she was busy. The 2-10 staff is great.

My uncle is in Prairie House Assisted Living and Memory Care. His room is comfortable, but it could be a little bit neater when they hang his clothes up or when they make their bed. Most of the staff are fine. They're pretty good about activities and getting them up and around. He's in the memory care part and they have in-house therapy coming. The food is pretty good, and it's a well-run and clean community.
