My boyfriend's dad is now at Atria Cranford. The nurses are great. The aides are wonderful. The room is cramped, but it works. They try to get everyone involved in activities. I thought that was really good for my boyfriend's dad to get involved and socialize, especially with dementia. They do physical therapy and occupational therapy covered through Medicare. They have bingo. They have movie night. They have church. They have checkers. There is a huge board with huge round disc for bingo. It's fun for them because they have to stand up. It's a team effort to get the bingo done together because the bingo board is so big. It takes three people to play one card, so it gets them involved by doing that. They encourage everyone to eat together, which is really nice. So far, no complaints with the food. The staff is wonderful. They seem to all be compassionate. The only thing that I don't like is that a lot of them speak Spanish. When I went to visit my boyfriend's dad, I was trying to talk to an aide to find out how he was doing. She didn't understand me because I guess she didn't speak English. This kind of bothered me because I like to have people that I can talk to and find out how things are going. Other than that, the staff seem really great.
