I've visited Stonecroft Health Campus and I thought they were quite excellent. I was impressed all around with that, the staff in the memory care unit, the cleanliness, and openness of the courtyard, everything. I thought it was a good place, but at the time, they didn't have a room available, or we probably would have moved there because they have assisted living too. The staff was lovely, and the lady who showed me around was wonderful. When I went into the room, there was a gal there, her name was Kim, and she was making this sort of blanket and inviting the residents to be there. One of the residents was sweeping up the floor in the kitchen, a couple of the residents were out in the courtyard, and one man was sitting there looking through the newspaper. It was in the middle of an L-shape, they only had 14 occupants so it wasn't a huge area, but everybody seemed to be engaged. Their rooms weren't as glamorous as the rooms in the other place I toured but the staff said that they don't want them in their rooms, they want them out being with people and being active. Their program was more of a social model where they could help to set the table and clear the dishes, so they'd have something to do. The lady who was their main activity person, was out there doing it and apparently, she just seemed to love everybody. They had something going on all the time for them to do and it was very obvious that they were happy. In the assisted living area, they had like a deli case, it was open all the time and the residents could help themselves. They had some delicious-looking salads, sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, and granola bars, and they had three beverages and fountain drinks. So they could help themselves to maybe crackers and muffins. They had a pretty nice array of things and the dining area was quite nice and very inviting, it looked like a restaurant. The courtyard was also lovely. They also make bread there and they sent me home with a loaf of homemade bread and it was delicious. They have a bakery, it was very very good. The Stonecroft menu was sort of what young people eat. So I was looking at memory care but I was very impressed with their assisted living amenities and their exercise room.
