I went to Oaks at Fayetteville. They are convenient and close to my family, so we can get to mom and visit. The staff was very pleasant and seemed to be attentive to my questions, such as what I was going to need for my mom and about the current patients that were already there. I didn't get a chance to see many amenities. She did walk me to the area for the memory care, and the room was kind of undergoing remodeling. It wasn't ready for a patient. I would have to see it after the renovation. They have a courtyard. I'm considering it for my mother. It's near restaurants and hospitals.

Check on your loved ones at The Oaks. My dads first night there was last night and he fell after being heavily medicated by staff. No one came in to check on him after falling. The facility did not notify the family or hospice. The family observed the fall on the in room camera. We had to notify the facility and hospice of the fall. The fall took place around 2:30 in the morning and hospice didn’t come to evaluate and check him out until around 11:00 after being notified by the family. Ratios need to be reviewed if you are thinking about this facility. Level of training and expertise of the staff needs to be reviewed and constantly monitored for additional training when needed. Communication for perspective residents needs to be honest and genuine about what this facility is equipped to handle with residents.

I've toured Oaks at Fayetteville. It was wonderful. It was very, very warm and inviting. It seemed like the residents were getting really good care and everybody seemed happy. And I was there late in the afternoon, but all the residents seemed comfortable and at ease. They didn't seem neglected or anything like that. The staff who accommodated me was extremely friendly and very understanding. The room was a one-bedroom with a full bathroom. It was pretty much like any other studio-type apartment, it was nice, though. It was very clean, and it had all the things that you would need for someone needing memory care. The facility was very good, very clean, and very well maintained. It looked great. They have a salon, workout areas, and an enclosed courtyard for the residents to be able to play outside. They have snacks available all day long in the little kitchen area where residents can get coffee, tea, or a snack if they want it in between meals. They have several sitting areas where they could sit and talk or play games. They have a TV area, too. I also like that outside of each resident's room, they have a picture from their younger days and then they have like a little shadow box that has some of their belongings in it, kind of telling their life story outside each room. That was kind of nice. The dining area was very nice. The tables were in groups of four, so when people eat, they were sitting with just a small group of people. Food is brought to them. They have this menu up, and they can select what they want and then people bring it to them.

What I liked about Oaks at Fayetteville was it was inviting and clean. When you walk in there, there's sort of a living room area that was very nice and the people's politeness and professionalism were exemplary. That meant a big deal to me. When I toured the memory care unit, I noticed that the residents were clean, dressed, and looked very well taken care of. Everything I saw seemed very appropriate on a high level, which was great. Deborah took me around, and she was just delightful. The other areas like the main dining room and all of that were very nice as well. I loved it. They had tables set up with glassware and napkins folded. You don't go into a lot of places that have that attention to detail. I also noticed a woman who came to visit his father and they were sitting out on the front portico and rocking chairs, and if we can just go in and visit like that, it would be terrific. I was very pleased with it all and hopefully, that's where my sister will land. One of the things I was also very pleased with was after discussing my sister's income and stuff, that they're willing to work with me. I was very happy that they wanted to ensure that she could have a place to live. Deborah was delightful and she stopped and attended to a memory care resident while we were touring. I just listened to her and watched her interact with this resident and she was awesome. There was an outdoor area too, where they could come and go as they pleased that appeared to be very nice and clean. Jennifer, who I think was the executive director, answered all the questions I had. She was very, very kind and took her time with me. I didn't feel rushed. It was good to talk with her as well.

Oaks at Fayetteville was a nice community. It was clean and the front desk staff was very nice. I liked the tour that we had and I liked that they separate memory care from assisted living. The dining area was also nice and clean. They have a TV area, a courtyard, and a garden where they grow vegetables. The rooms were a good size for individual rooms, while the person who did the tour was nice too.

My mother is placed here. So far, it is positive. We haven't been there long enough to experience too much, but my mother seems to be pretty happy there. They have taken an interest in her care. The staff members are very attentive with all of us. They play live music for the residents, they do art work, and they watch movies. A lot of times my mother would go out and sit in the garden in the back. They have dinner parties and they just had one recently for Christmas. My mother likes the food, and the food looks good to me. It is better than where she was. The dining area is very warm and conducive to eating. Her room is not big; it is a bedroom-living room combination. It has a bathroom, which is a decent size with a shower and sink. She has a big closet, too and for her, the room is perfect.
