About This Community

Appreciating the specialized care delivered by Hope Center Memory Care - a licensed Assisted Living Community begins with an understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Dementia is a general term for loss of memory and other mental abilities severe enough to interfere with daily life. It is caused by physical changes in the brain. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia, accounting for approximately 70 percent of cases.

The design of the Hope Center Memory Care - a licensed Assisted Living Community provides for four separate “Villages”. Each self-contained Village provides accommodations for only 16 residents, creating a family atmosphere wherein each resident is accepted and respected as a member of the family. Within each Village, there is a kitchen, dining room and areas for activities. Creative activities are specifically designed to meet the needs and abilities of residents at various levels of memory loss and cognitive function.

I went to Hope Center Memory Care. I actually thought it was one of the better facilities that I visited. It really had the things I needed. I chose this because I liked the fact that the people in the facility, the aides, nurses, and others wore a mask. I like that because we still have COVID in our surroundings. I liked the fact that they had four different pods or places where they put patients and it was according to cognitive functioning. If it was very low cognitive function, there would be 16 to 18 patients in a pod. If it was high, it would be in another pod, and the two in the middle were for people who had varying degrees of cognitive function. The aides were certified dementia practitioners. I like that. They make 30-minute rounds. I like that for somebody who has dementia. One of the reasons why I chose this is, it had podiatry, and my husband needs podiatry. He's also in hospice, so they will take care of the incontinence problems. They have a support group. None of the other places that I went to ever really mentioned any of this. Peyton, she was very good. She basically verified and actually told me all these things so that helped me to make my decision. The facility is locked for certain hours, but I could still get in. And they had two wellness directors who are involved with the patients all the time. There's Hospice on call on the weekend. I didn't observe any activities, but I just had somebody who came to my house and explained a little bit more about it, it was the social worker and the hospice nurse. And they both said there are many activities that they will get my husband involved in and I think that's good.

I like that Hope Center Memory Care is close to me and that they can accommodate both of my parents in the memory care. The staff was wonderful. They were very accommodating, very professional, and upfront. The rooms were very nice and sufficient. The dining area was also nice. They had a nice area where my mother could go out and sit and be out in the nice weather alone. They have a space to be together and chat with people occasionally when they want to. We walked past an area where they were having activities with the seniors as well. It's just my folks are not there yet. So, I am rating them, for now, a 3.

This was the first time I had visited mom after her move. She was much improved. Talking more, sitting up straight in her wheel chair & that means she is stronger. She told me she happier at memory care than she was Assisted Living.

My dad was in Hope Center Memory Care, it was great. The rooms were extremely clean, they took their own furniture so that they would be familiar with their surroundings. The hallways were wide and I saw them doing activities with them. They were bouncing a big ball back and forth and different things like that. I only had the food there once. The cleanliness was top notch and staff members were just great caring people. It was alright, though a bit pricey.

My mother was in this facility for less than one month. She was bedridden & they put her in a bed with no rails. She was very weak. After she was there for only a couple of weeks, we were notified that she “rolled out of bed & bumped her head.” My mom was too weak to move on her own - I know this because I took care of her for 3 months! She was not a taken to the ER just down the road to be checked nor given a CT scan! Awful bruise on her forehead! The staff was RUDE to say the least! Also there seemed to be an issue with not enough or adequately trained staff the times I was with my mom, when allowed to visit. My mother never talked again & was unconscious. Phone calls my brother made to speak with my mother were met with excuses that she was resting or she wasn’t able to talk. Then the one time when my brother DID talk to my mom, she was totally incoherent & couldn’t talk over the phone! Five days after her “fall” we received a call that my mom was showing “signs of the end of life!” One week later she passed away!! We are broken hearted & furious. Incompetent & downright RUDE & UNCARING is an understatement for the “care givers” /staff/aides. I was told by one in particular that I had been there too long & needed to leave when I sat there with the hospice nurse for 3 hours after my mom passed away. We waited that long for the funeral home to pick up her body! Comments were made by the funeral home attendant who transported my mom’s body & the hospice nurse as well. I hope that “caregiver” lost her job! My sweet mother was coherent when she was admitted there. She was like a vegetable after the supposed head injury. Had I known the outcome, she would NEVER have gone there. Neglectful & rude, disrespectful staff except for the hospice workers who saw my mom the short time she was there - they were a separate company & were wonderful. The chaplaincy staff of the hospice was wonderful as well. The other staff was horrible. Don’t leave your loved ones at this place!! My mother would still be with us now had she not gone there. I thought I was doing the right thing. Now my mom is gone forever & we won’t see her again until we depart this life!

My mom moved into Hope Center Memory Care, but she is not there at the moment because she had a fall. Nevertheless, I really like them. It's great, and the staff and the facility seemed to be very good and very nice, so that's our initial impression. Our mom's fall was not due to anything they're responsible for, so I don't have anything negative to say there. It's all memory care, and they have different villages for different levels of needs. They have activities like church services, arts and crafts, watching TV, bingo, and puzzles. Those who are capable and interested in helping serve meals and clean participate in those activities, too. They also have facilities for the residents to have meals with their loved ones. Their staff has been very friendly and very cooperative, and they're very willing to work with us, so that we could get Mom set up and integrated into the community. They're also very informative when we call and ask questions. The facility is a little dated, but it's clean and in great shape.

My mom has been better taken care of than she has at another facility for 2 years. She is feeling better than she has been in several years. We are very thankful, we hesitated to move her but it is the best thing we could have done.

Residents receive wonderful care and the staff truly treats them like family. The residents are well cared for and enjoy many activities, including spending time outside weather permitting. The meals look appetizing and Mom looks forward to mealtimes. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my mother’s care. They are truly exceptional!

Previously my Dad was on an assisted living and he was beginning to be more forgetful and needed better memory care. We visited several centers in the area and chose Hope for several reasons. The Managers showed true love and devotion to the center and the residents. They love on Daddy and talk to him as caring professionals. The cleanliness of the center was outstanding! I am still so impressed with how well the house cleaning is. With Covid they have found ways to let us see our loved ones and they show so much compassion for the residents and the families. Daddy has been at Hope almost 2 years and he is comfortable and at peace there. My family is glad that we chose Hope. I know if you choose them you and your loved one will be happy too.

I visited Hope Center and it was great. I liked the staff, but I wasn't able to observe the residents where they live because of COVID. So I wasn't able to see everything that I would like to see, but it wasn't their fault.

Hope Center Memory Care is a really nice place. The layout is perfect for seniors who need memory care because they are able to be grouped with others at the same stage of dementia or Alzheimer's. We have been really pleased. The staff has been awesome. They pay attention. They call us with any concerns, and they keep us up-to-date, which has been a really big relief. Since we haven't been able to go inside, we only have interactions through phone calls and private meetings. We haven't been able to go in for any meals, etc. It was during the lockdown that my mom went in there, but we were able to take her inside the day we moved her in.

The other one that I like and I almost had my mom move into was Hope Memory Center. It is new, beautiful, and nice. The thing I like about this place is that the residents are divided into four different neighborhoods based on what level they're at. They divide them up into these different neighborhood areas so that they are interacting with people that are at the same stage as they are themselves. I really like that; I am impressed by that. The problem is that it is extremely expensive, and we just could not afford it. The rooms were very nice and spacious. The place itself is only four or five years old, so everything is very nice, new, and modern.

My 95-year old father stayed at Hope Center after we pulled him out of Christian City. What a fabulous difference at Hope Center. The place was clean, the attendants happy and caring and the activities were everyday except Sunday/Family Day. But even on Sundays they had things for them to do. They set up Hospice when needed. They were always in touch with us, but then again one of us would be there with Dad at least 6 days a week for a few hours or more. I did hear that they hired a lot of new staff and they are bubbly to say the least. The outside grounds are beautiful, which Dad enjoyed. As far as medication goes I saw everything they were giving to dad. In fact coming from Christian City the new doctor took him off a lot of meds he did not need. All the other residents that I saw seemed very happy to be there. You can come and go as you please and drop in any time you like. I would defiantly recommend Hope Center.

Hope Center Memory Care looks new and the residents' rooms and other parts of the facility all looked like it received attention and the same level of care from the company. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained.

I have not experienced anything but GREAT at Hope. My Mom is well taken care of and the staff is very attentive to her. She is always fed on time and clean when I visit, which is at different, random times. They have recently changed ownership but I am seeing good things since the transfer also. I HIGHLY recommend Hope Center Memory Care. They love and care for their residents

My husband was at the Hope Assisted Living at one time, but he got better. Neither one of us liked it there. And if anything happened to him again, I would not ever take him back there. They needed more help to see that the patients were fed and taken care of. They just weren’t that concerned, and I’m not sure if they gave him the right medication. I kept telling them what he was on and everything, and I think they finally got it straightened out. But I didn’t like it, and I haven’t talked to anybody that did like it. There were four sections of it, and they had him in the lowest section. He was the best one in that section, and I kept telling them he does not need to be in this part of it. They finally moved him up to the next part, and he didn’t need to be there either.

The facility is clean and that's the only good thing about it understaffed and the staff they do have stands around (the island) on their phones or iPad. Their solution is to medicate everyone so they aren't mobile. Too many falls, injuries and illnesses left untreated. There are no activities - not even a puzzle. If your loved one needs to be fed, forget it.
