Holiday Highland Estates was wonderful. I was impressed with them. The lady who toured me around could not have been more helpful. She was awesome. The dining area was very nice. I found the people to be very engaged and enjoying themselves. Their library was well-appointed and the overall look of the property was very clean and well-kept.

I liked Highland Estates better than the other place because it was brighter, and a little smaller. The community is a little smaller. It's in a nice area. There's no road work going on. It's kind of quiet. The windows in the units were brighter. There's a grassy area. There's a place for the residents to sit, and there are rocking chairs. My mom can walk her dog easily. They have the same activities as the other place, like last night they were going to have a casino night. I saw their dining room, but I didn't try the food. It was neat. I liked it. It was more inviting.

We went to Highland Estates. It started with a phone call. I talked to Tricia, and right away I felt comfortable. I didn't feel like there were a whole bunch of rules that we had to go by before they'd talk to us. She welcomed us right over the phone. One of the biggest things for my son (who is over fifty-five years old) is that he smokes, and that has been such a barrier in all the places. She said, "Yes, he can smoke outside, of course." Right off the bat we knew that there was a place for him. He doesn't like that he smokes, but he does, so we need a place for him to do it. She didn't make him feel like a third-class citizen because he smoked, and that was amazing. It was huge. When we went out there, both he and I felt comfortable, even though he wasn't very nice to her. I know it hurt her feelings, but she took it anyway. She's bending over backwards to try to help us get moved in. It was all a good experience, and I have looked at a lot of places, so I give her credit for that.
When you drive in, the yard and the trees look really nice. The building stands out all by itself. It is warm feeling. When you go inside, it just feels good. I think it was the people in there that made the inside feel good. We got to meet the cook and the manager. It was warm. They had everything, but I wasn't as interested in that, right now because my son isn't sociable.

I went to Highland Estates. It was fantastic, the person that ran the tour was very informative, she was very friendly, and I think probably it was the runner up property for us. But just from the way that she explained things in the rooms that she showed us, and the opportunities they would have, I thought it was fantastic. It seemed very clean, very organized. I visited during COVID protocol time, right before the vaccinations became widely available, but it still seemed like they were taking a lot of precautions. You could tell there was a plan in place, it was well-manicured, it was in fit condition.

I like Highland Estates. It was very nice, and the staff was knowledgeable. They knew what they were talking about. I like the apartments, but they were small. I wasn't sure that my queen-size bed would fit in one of the bedrooms. I like the size of the patio, but all of the hallways were outdoor access. There's no indoor access. You just go on a concrete walkway that is very wide, and I like that, but it was all outside. I suppose it would be fine except for I went and saw it right after we had that big freeze, and I thought that I wouldn't want to walk out my front door and instantly hit the weather.
If I was going to move to an apartment and not a standalone cottage, I would want to walk into a hallway. It wasn't going to fit our needs. It had elevators, but it was a good walking distance. They had great open areas and nice amenities, they're way out in the boonies (and I like that), but the problems we had were the outside access, the rooms were small, and the showers were not really made for people who need some assistance, like getting a wheelchair into the shower. We don't need assisted living, but we need amenities that are capable of handling my husband's disabilities.
It's a nice place, it has handicap capabilities in some of their apartments, and the outdoor spaces were great, but during really hot and really cold weather, that's an issue for me. We did an enormous amount of walking. I didn't feel like the staff was that familiar with which hallways we had to go down, because they all look alike.

My mother has moved into Highland Estates. We like the location and everyone seems very friendly, even the people who live there. The staff goes above and beyond to help us, answer questions and show us around. They just had everything she was looking for. The facility is very clean and nice. They are socially distanced and following protocols. They seem up-to-date with all the latest decor and accessibility. Her room is good and it is a perfect size for her. It has everything that she needs and it allows her to get around as she needs to.

We were satisfied with Highland Estates. The apartment was nice. The staff member we talked to was very accommodating. The dining area was beautiful and clean. They provide activities for the residents, and they have movies and exercises. My father-in-law needed care, someone to give him his meds and walk him down to the dining room, but we would have to pay extra for that at this facility.

My mother is happy at Highland Estates. She's in a one-bedroom apartment. The grounds and everything are fine. Her only complaint is the food, and I agree with her. She goes to exercise, and she plays bingo, and volleyball. They also have card games. I like the staff, and she has one person that she has really bonded with. She's comfortable there, and they have tons of activities.

I love Highland Estates. I think it's great and my friend is very happy there. The food is great and the staff is also great. Everything about the place is wonderful. The room are nice, the building is great, the activities are fun, they go on outings, and they have a wonderful staff. I can't say anything bad about it. It's independent living and very reasonably priced/comparable to other places.

Highland Estates had better prices than the others. They were helpful, and it seemed a good fit for my mother. They offered three meals a day, transportation, and entertainment. There's a medical group that the residents can get aligned with. The doctors will come to the residents. The rooms were good sized and had everything the residents needed. The bathrooms had older folks in mind. They only had a kitchenette since they serve food downstairs. They had balconies and different floor plans. The staff was friendly, informative and helpful. They had music, arts and crafts, movies, and a library.

Our experience with Highland Estates has been awesome. The staff is helpful in getting my mother-in-law settled. Jackie and the cleaning staff have been wonderful, and everybody is good. The place is nice, and they have a lot of activities going on. It's a beautiful community. The people are great, and we haven't heard a complaint about the food from her.

Highland Estates was nice. They mostly had apartments. We spent a night there, and it was nice and comfortable. The food was fairly good, but I didn’t like how the dining was set up. You had to be there at a certain time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. That was our biggest dislike. The residents had a certain place to sit in the dining area. The staff was nice and friendly. The people we talked to were informative. The residents seemed fairly happy.

Highland Estates impressed me. I met several staff there, and I was impressed with them. The sales person was fantastic. I met the chef. The chef actually came to my table in person. He was a very nice person, and I was glad to talk to him for a few minutes. I met several of the residents, and they had very nice things to say about the community. I had a very nice visit with them.

My parents are living in Highland Estates. The manager and everybody have been extremely nice. They are very nice people and have a lot of activities going on. It's gorgeous and not extremely fancy, but it's a beautiful, big, and modern place that's very open and bright. It's not dark. There's a lot of natural light. It's just a pretty place.

I have lived at Highland Estates for five years. In the beginning, they were fantastic. We got new management, and it dropped to the bottom. It is terrible. The food is just absolutely lousy. They use a feather duster to clean, so the dust just settles back down to where it was. The residents are fantastic. 90% are assisted living and a lot of them have dementia. They only have one elevator for the whole place. I would not recommend it at this time to anyone.

Our visit at Highland Estates was very good. I liked the services they offered. Their staff was great, and I was totally impressed with them. Their activities included games, movies, and a lot of things for residents to do that I like doing, too.

I liked the services that Highland Estates offer, and it is geared more for people that are still functioning at a pretty high level. They have study groups, and that is what I am interested in. For activities, they have field trips, games, things like the others, and they have book studies. I have tried the food -- it was good and healthy. The only thing I do not like is they have set times for meals not arranged. I would suggest that they have meals from 8:00 to 9:30 or something instead of just 8:00. The other thing I like about it is you get more square footage for the money. I am getting a two-bedroom.

Affordable, quiet, and spacious. The management and staff are friendly, the place is well-kept and clean. There are no noisy neighbors or roads close-by - which is a definite plus.
I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for non-assisted care for their elderly family member in the retirement stage.
