The one I liked the best is Kendal at Hanover. It feels actually like a college campus. It's over a large area and there's quite a selection of living units. It is continuing care or CCRC. It's also next to a reserve where there's a lot of walking trails. For somebody who wants independent living and plenty of chances to stay active, they have activities there and they have very nice fitness facilities.
The staff was friendly and very enthusiastic. There were apartments, but I liked the ones that were single-story attached. They were small, but enough for me. They had a beautiful dining room and the gym had very good equipment and spaces for classes. One of the big attractions for me was being able to get out and go for a walk. I saw quite a number of people walking their dogs, so it's pet-friendly. It's near Darthmouth College, so you can go to plays and stuff if you want.
