About This Community
In September 2010, Glenn Lane’s mother, mother-in-law, and aunt were diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. The family was devastated, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to expect. Glenn got to work to learn everything he could about dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease and the currently available treatments. After learning everything he could, Glenn didn’t want the information to stop with him. Therefore, he created Westchester Family Care to assist other families through some of the most challenging times in their lives.
So why do we care? We understand the pain, sadness, and confusion because we’ve been there. We know that every client and personal situation is different and requires an individual, customized solution. Your health and peace of mind are most important.

The first week was pretty good but then after that it was not good and I didn't need them anymore. The first caregiver came and made me food for each meal, made my bed, and helped me get dressed.
The people that came at night were not very helpful. I had one that I really liked and then they pulled her and gave me different caregivers after that. I had another caregiver that would just sit and watch TV with me. The one that was great would ask what she could do for me and do stuff instead of sitting around.

This agency tries hard to do the best for our family. The nurses are exemplary, they actually care about here. The care they provide depends on the client's personality.

They cover a large area of care. We like the people they sent us. It would be nicer to have someone come 20 hours a week instead of 40. That could potentially lead us to not using them anymore.

The person that we have comes 4 hours a day and she straightens up the beds and makes breakfast for my husband. It gives me 4 hours when I can leave and run errands. It increases my quality of life immensely.
I love the person that they have sent us. We finally have someone who is very, very good.

I hired Westchester Family Care briefly. They came and did light housekeeping and a little help with meal preparation. I would recommend them. They seemed to be very concerned and willing to help out.

We met with Anette who's a supervisor from Westchester Family Care, Inc. when my mom was still at the rehab center. She took a detailed history, did an evaluation of my mother, and what we thought the needs would be. She went to the house, did another evaluation, she set her up with an aide whom my mother adored, and it was a fantastic match. The caregiver is very caring, extremely reliable, communicates very well, and it was so far a great experience. Billing is easy, I get the bills for my mom, but it's automatically billed to her credit card.

Normally my loved one lives in his own home and he refused a lot of aides. We finally found this one that he is happy with. It is easier for me because I live in Connecticut and he lives in New York, so I would have to go there everyday.
They are very amicable if things need to be changed and the aide that helps my loved one is unbelievable. My loved one is 91, so they are not easy to work with.

So far with Westchester Family Care, everything has been great. There was a time that a caregiver was not able to come, so the owner even came to take there place, and then even the next caregiver could not come and they stayed. I was so impressed with the way that things were handled as I do not know of many people that would do that. Westchester Family Care sends caregivers that know what they are doing before they come to the home. The caregivers that I am sent from Westchester Family Care are highly rated.
