Kindred at Home (formerly Professional Healthcare at Home) provides personal home care assistance and home health services to families throughout Daly City and surrounding cities. We assist people who struggle with prolonged illness, recovery from surgery, physical or developmental disabilities or simply the challenges of aging. We also coordinate medical, personal, and social service resources, and have built a strong reputation for dedication to the highest standards of compassionate, attentive in-home care.
Our services include assistance with activities of daily living such as personal care, transportation, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and medication reminders. Extra measures are taken to match the most appropriate caregiver to the client, based not only on skill level but personality, as well. All of our caregivers are employees and are bonded and insured. Our home health division provides care to patients in their residences to fully support their recovery from illness, injury or surgery. Our nurses, aides and therapists coordinate care to meet the medical and emotional needs of patients and treat individuals with acute, long-term and terminal conditions. Our experienced staff is dedicated to providing the highest quality of individualized care. Case managers design each individual's care plan to meet the patient's specific needs. I am writing this on behalf of my elderly upstairs neighbor.
I've watched the caregiver Lucia give the most amazing care to M. She is like an angel heaven sent. She is so compassionate, caring, and works so hard when she is here, and always with a beautiful smile on her face. She shows up every day on time and gets straight in helping M with breakfast and getting him ready for shower/bath. He is 96 years old and since Lucia has been here, he looks so much younger. She bathes and shaves him and helps him get dressed. She always makes sure that the bed is clean and tidy. She has organized the kitchen in a way that is easy for him. She does laundry for him as he is not able to get downstairs. I highly recommend that anyone looking a needing a care giver company should call Kindred at Home. The administrative staffing manager A, it a pleasure to deal with. He keeps me updated and informed about Lucia's schedule. It's amazing to see the level of care that the company provides. Well done to everyone there who makes life so much better for the elderly.

Aileene is a reliable, and trustworthy worker. She is not lazy and 100% reliable in taking care of me. I would highly recommend her to any one who might be looking for personal care services.

Caregiver, Rajah has been providing support to an older lady with mobility issues. Duties include meal prep, walking the client outside the house, light housekeeping as well as managing client’s two small dogs. Rajah is soft spoken and interacts well with the client. All duties performed well.
Agency has been responsive to requests to modify schedule and provide weekend coverage.

Kindred at Home provides weekend support to my dad who is 86yr old. The caregiver is always on time, and ready to take care of my dad for the day. She is capable, and engaging. Ensuring my dad does his exercises, eats his lunch and had his favorite sports and TV show available to watch.

I chose Kindred at Home for my mother because it was one of the few agencies who allowed me the 8 hours per week we need for her Personal Home Care Assistance as we start the journey of her home care. Nelly is mom mom's caregiver and she is very pleased with her services. She is friendly, efficient, compassionate and always arrives on time. My mom looks forward to the days Nelly is with her.

This review is for last year in August. This review has to do with Kinder At Home and Aimee, the manager. Aimee was a lifesaver at finding a caregiver last minute for us. One of my mom's caregiver suddenly jumped ship for another agency with 2 days notice to us. It's difficult to find good caregiving during these times due to covid restrictions and a huge reduction in caregiving staff. Also, I was very worried we would have a very difficult time trying to find someone suitable that would fit in with the other caregivers working with my mom as well as someone who would get along with my mom. Aimee Came through and was our champion. She communicated and updated us with her search and when she found the right caregiver, right caregiver, she let us know of her qualifications, her previous history, and why she believed she would work well with us.. Aimee was professional, understanding, a great communicator and listener and knew exactly what we needed. I highly recommend Kindered at Home as they have an excellent reputation of making sure your loved one is being well-cared-for. Aimee treats everyone with the most utmost respect and kindness. Thank you Amimee for coming through on such short notice & finding a great caregiver!

Kindred currently provides 105 hrs/week of home care for my dad. They were very helpful and responsive while working with them on scheduling Tagalog speaking caregivers for the days/times we needed on such a short notice. The staff is very nice and professional. They always get back to me when I have questions and work with me directly to resolve any issues. It's a pleasure having Kindred At Home take care of my dad.

My caregiver, Desiree, is excellent. She helps me with my shower, she changes the sheets for me, she helps with laundry and does light housekeeping. She also prepares my meals and takes me to my appointment. She does everything that I ask her to do and she completes the tasks quickly. When Desiree shows up, she does the tasks automatically without being told.

I would like to let the staff at Kindred know how much I appreciate the help that I needed and got from the caregivers that they have sent to my home. At the age of 77, I fell down the stairs at home and broke a leg, and they sent me one caregiver. With her help and kindness, I was able to make a fall recovery. 5 1/2 years later, in 2021, I fell again at home. After hospitalization and surgery, I call Kindred again and they sent me another caregiver. She has been with me for over 6 months. Because of her patience and understanding, I have slowly improved from complete dependence on her to regaining some independence and ability to help myself.

A wonderful woman comes to help my husband 4 times a week, 4 hours a day. She has made such an improvement in his life. She makes wonderful lunches for him, does light cleaning. She soaks his feet, helps him shower, and the urinal. She changes his clothes when soiled. She protects him from falling, observing him carefully. She is polite, informs me about his status. She arrives on time and has stayed a couple times because of concerns. I am ill and care for him outside of her time here. I have made no direct requests form the agency.

Kindred At Home is a wonderful, cozy Agency. Clare, Olive, Aimee, and Arnold are all so nice to talk to.
You can tell they care about their clients.
Our family has had our caregiver Luisa for close to 7 years. Besides being a kind and caring person, Luisa is ALWAYS super efficient and punctual. Always happy to see us when she arrives at the house. My father (her client) loves her and he is very fussy but Luisa he says is very nice and helpful and he gets along with her. I love Luisa's laugh! I had to mention this because that makes the difference in our day for the better. When my father passes away some day, Luisa and my family will still be friends as she has become family to us. I highly recommend Kindred At Home for your caretaking needs and if you are lucky enough to get Luisa, you will feel like you just won the lottery!

I commend the agency for hiring such an amazing and wonderful caregiver like Aileen. Aileen is a big blessing to our family. She makes it easy for us to deal with the health condition and needs of my ailing 99 year old father by providing outstanding care and comfort to him. She always goes above and beyond her normal duties and can be relied upon in positions of responsibility. She does not mind working over her regular work hours to provide the absolute care that my father needs. She is a lifesaver.
The agency personnel are customer oriented, easy to talk with and very responsive to our requests.

Kindred at Home has been a blessing to my parents. They have sent people with very short notice and always find someone to be there for them. All of my parents care givers have been very kind, helpful, and loving. The office is always very helpful and will get back to you immediately.

My 86 year old mom recently had sciatica. It was extremely painful and required her to have homecare day and night. We were in a real bind, as my siblings and I weren't able to provide the near round the clock care that my mom needed. We reached out to Lars at Kindred at Home Daly City on a Friday afternoon. He met us the next day for a couple of hours and had caregivers lined up for day and night shifts starting 3 days later. Lars also gave us a number of really helpful suggestions such as getting a bedside commode and a baby monitor. The caregivers have been taking care of my mom for about a month and a half. The caregivers are great. They've helped my mom tremendously and she has improved a great deal. My mom is really happy with the service that they have provided and with the friendly attitudes that they have. Olive who we've worked with for scheduling caregivers has also been great. We highly recommend Kindred at Home Daly City for homecare. Thank you Kindred at Home Daly City!

I gave Kindred at Home more chances. They do not train their caregivers to lift, they only train them on the job. I had a sweet girl with a nice attitude one day, but the only training she got about lifting was online. I think I've gone through four or five caregivers, but the people don't show up, or they show up late. The other day I finally found a caregiver at 1:00 p.m when they were supposed to come at 8:30 a.m. Some of them don't want to do anything. They did not send me who I needed.

When I needed Kindred at Home, they took me to doctor's visits, did a lot of private grocery shopping for me, and the most important thing was getting my medical tests and going to every place I needed to go, and never complained about where they were going. Everyone that I got was absolutely very professional and very kind. I had to call them at the last minute and they were able to get me my help every time.
At present, I don't have in-house caregiving, but my husband did. And the one that came in for my husband was exceptional. She's still working for Kindred and she's always asked for. When they do a good job like that you almost want the same person all the time, but I was surprised that each one they got if they couldn't get the same person, they were just as good as the other! And with all this virus going on, they're exceptionally very careful, just very kind and they know what they're doing. A lot of them had to do some driving. I'm never worried a bit when I was with them.

Kindred has helped me twice with my mother in the last 5 yrs,they have always been accommodating to my hours needed.It is hard to find trust worthy care takers with your loved one while you have to work.

Agency provides me a weekly respite which is a big of help on my part, being able to rest and and do some errands while my kids are with their caregivers..my kids caregivers are always on time, my kids love them and I get along well with them. When schedules need to be changed, agency will be able to do it right away

I'm well taken care of by Kindred at Home. Everyone always seems happy to do whatever they can to help me. They are always on time. I'm paralyzed from the chest down so they help me with bathing, dressing, putting food together, and cleaning up my house whenever they can. Anything I need help with, they are willing to help.

I have been using Kindred at Home for my husband. They're pretty good and they're lots of help. I'm 84 years old, so that's why I couldn't do much and I need help to wash his body. He cannot go to the bathroom because he has a catheter. They also help with making bed. The caregiver is pretty good. I cannot complain and she does a pretty good job. Because my husband always starts at 9 a.m., she comes at 9 a.m. until 12 noon, so the schedule is pretty good to me. She is never late. She can be a few minutes late like the traffic is pretty bad, she would call all the time, so it's OK. When I call, sometimes they are out and so I left a message, and they always call me back.

I am a 69-year-old functioning quadriplegic confined to a wheelchair. I use a Hoyer Lift to transfer from bed to shower chair and bed to wheelchair. Kindred provides responsive weekend care. The same caregiver is consistently on time, very efficient, friendly and listens to my input in addressing my needs. I would recommend Kindred to other disabled folks who want to remain in their home and stay independent.

I am most pleased to write a review of services I have received from the Kindred Home Care Agency near Daly City. The personal attention provided by the professional staff is beyond reproach. They are sensitive, responsible and focused on the needs of their clientele. The care giver with whom I worked, i.e. Ms. Genie, arrived on time, assisted in various needs, from home care, shopping, cooking, laundry, cleaning and assisting in personal concerns; and an excellent listener.
The Agency responds to telephone contact with impressive immediacy.
Finally, the supervisor was a top notch professional.

My uncle used Kindred at Home. It was very good. If someone wasn't working well with my uncle John, they were able to shift things around for him, which was good. We only had a few times where we had to change people out. For the most part, it was very good. Towards the last couple of years, he had to have a 24-hour caregiver. They worked it out pretty well.
Uncle John had many caregivers. Way back early days. He had Destiny, who was wonderful with him and worked with him for many years. The next one was Irma and she was great, too. They were outstanding. My only concern was that occasionally it seemed like the caregivers were almost as old as John. They managed well, but it seemed to be not the best fit.

My caregiver from Kindred at Home is absolutely superb. She couldn't be better. She is on time, and she dresses professionally. Three times a week, I would go over to a senior center for exercise or for the book clubs and she comes with me. She doesn't have to stay in the room with me but she is on the premises, and she helps me there. I have her for about four hours a day four days a week. She is absolutely superb; she is top of the line.

We have been using Kindred at Home since January. It is working out very well. When we go to the doctor's, the caregiver would drive us. She also does housework like dusting and vacuuming. She gives my husband a shower, too. The caregiver is very nice and helpful. When she doesn't know what to do, she asks us, 'What's next?' She is not just sitting around and doing nothing; she is always doing something.

My father has Kindred at Home for caregiving. The caregiver gives him food and he helps him rinse his mouth. The caregiver speaks the same language, so he is comfortable with that. I love them. I'm so impressed and so happy with them. If I could, I would use them more often. We have been using them since December. They're one of the best out there as far as caring for my parents. I love the staff; they're great. They get back with me right away. I can text them, email them and call them. If I don't get one person, I get another person. They're just on top of it. The caregiver comes on time, too.

Overall, Kindred at Home's care is very good. My neighbor got four different people who cycle through his home on a weekly basis. Overall, they care for him. Also, knowing that I'm overall managing his care, they call me from time to time to suggest things which I appreciate, whether a piece of equipment or some new food item to make sure he is getting the best care he can get. I also want to compliment the front office. They're very accommodating when it comes to a change in the schedule or having special needs. They're very proactive and very good at communicating when a caregiver can't come for a particular session and letting me know who else is coming, so that's good. So far, they're very good.

We had used Kindred at Home for two weeks. They were helping my mother by watching her and making sure she can get around. She had a fracture pelvis and a broken clavicle, so I just needed somebody to be home while I'm at work and just watch her around. My mother did most of her walking and moving around by herself, but I just needed them to be there to help her if she needed it. My mother was very comfortable with them. The caregiver was very good. My mother is very independent so having somebody in her house makes her nervous but after a couple of days, she got used to it. I have nothing bad to say about them. They were quick; they responded very fast.

We have been using Kindred at Home for almost a year now. My father is on his second caregiver. They're there for a total of 16 hours. He is a fall risk, so the caregiver pretty much sits by him and then if he needs to get up, she follows him. When he is feeling good, she helps him do his physical therapy exercises. She massages his shoulders and sore legs because he has a lot of arthritis, she reminds him about his medication, and she reminds him to do some of his breathing exercises. On good days, they will go to the front of the house in the backyard to go for a walk but that hasn't been recently.
My father is very comfortable with her. I'm comfortable with her, too. However, there is one situation where he had to use the bathroom, but he was not very balanced and he was a little bit wobbly. She told him to go sit on the chair to regain his composure, but she didn't follow up with him to say, 'You need to go use the restroom.' It would have been nice if she said, 'Since you're stable now, let's go to the bathroom.' That was the only incident worth mentioning.
They need to improve with the communication between the office and the caregiver because I had requested a couple of things but it wasn't relay to the caregiver. Also they need to improve on training the caregiver to be more proactive and to give them some ideas on what to do in situations.

Everything is good with Kindred at Home. As of now, I don't have any problems. We started with them last September. My caregiver is with my husband five times a week three hours a day. She prepares his lunch. She also changes his diaper because my husband is bed-bound. Right now, my husband is happy with his caregiver. We tried a man before, but when that man went on vacation, they gave me a lady. Well, now they're friends because they talk to each other. They exchange their experiences. I told my husband, 'Do you want me to change your caregiver?' as I'm joking with him. He said, 'No, I like her because she understands me.' Every time I have a problem or I have to change hours, they arrange it right away. I'm happy with that.

The caregiver is wonderful.
She helps with light housework, is caring about my husband.
She is always on time. She is self motivated and finds things to do that help me.
I trust her to be home alone while I run quick errands or walk our dog.
The agency has been quite responsive about any requests.

Some CG'S are good and some are not. I noticed some CG's get too comfortable. But now I am glad that I have a consistent CG. I have been a client since May 2015.

We had hired Kindred at Home for my uncle, but he fired them. They seemed very good to us, but my uncle didn't like having anybody in his house, so he fired them. He is a very difficult man. I thought they were fine though. Management seemed to be OK.
