I tried to join the community and they will not permit me to join and care for my mother without their meal plan. Their food is mushy and overcooked. It’s also wasteful and harmful to our planet because every single resident in the thousands consumes meals and take out packaging daily. It’s also extremely overpriced and you don’t get your money’s worth.

The rooms are excellent and the staff as well. I enjoyed doing crafts and i went to a few movies as well. The food was good, I just wish there were more salads at lunch.(I don't like to eat heavy). There is a bistro for families and my husband loved it

I like shannondell a lot, I've been here 5 times. I enjoy the food, the people, and everything about it. I certainly would recommend this facility to friends/ family.

I really expected better. Two weeks after explaining to the executive director that the resident has frontal lobe damage from falls prior to moving in, she and the director of nursing proceeded to sit down with him to discuss his behavior, telling him he is too loud and impatient. What? True, from a conversation with him it doesn't seem that brain damage is apparent because he has a good memory and communicates well. That, however, doesn't negate the fact that behavior changes are apparent and that he is not able to control certain urges (like yelling or loudly voicing his opinion). (Not to mention that this meeting was supposed to happen on a certain day when he waited in his wheelchair for close to two hours for her only to find that she left the building for the day without giving him any notice or having someone else give him notice.) She also continues to tell him that he should be able to stand during changes regardless of the fact that it he has been unable to bear any weight on his legs for the two years since his stroke. There are a handful of wonderful nurses/aides on staff and therapy seems to be able to deal with him, but training is obviously lacking in many areas as is communication. Things appear to be going downhill rapidly. I am so disappointed.

Beautiful new rehab facility that cuts every corner to make more money. One nurse for 20-30 patients depending on the floor. Visitors must pay $14 for sub par food. Pay extra for anything and everything. Mostly nice people who work there but they will tell you how overworked and understaffed they were. First night there I was one of two new patients and if my sibling hadn't been there I would have been in major trouble. I couldn't get any help at all and had to wait 25-30 minutes at times to get help from RN or CNA. Don't go there unless you must!!

I recently spent almost 3 weeks at The Meadows while recovering from a fractured hip and hip replacement surgery. I recommend this place very highly.
There was one aide who worked the night shift who consistently made me feel uncomfortable. However, he was the single exception. Everyone else - doctors, nurses (especially Emily and Morgan), physical therapists (especially Lisa and Peggy), occupational therapists (especially Sandy and Julia), social workers, and administrative staff - were very helpful, caring, and professional.
The food - other than breakfast - wasn't great, and so I lost 5 pounds while there. But if I ever again need a rehab facility, I hope The Meadows will have a bed available.

Extremely disappointed in the lack of care. My mother went there after a broken hip and we were shocked at the bad care. We had to constantly tell them of things like the pain in her stomach (then they confirmed a UTI), the broken wheelchair took 2 days to get a new one and she ended up with blisters on her heels because they were dragging on the ground - they took 2 weeks to heal. I would never, ever recommend this to anyone. Looks nice, but better to take a relative home than do rehab there - she came out worse than when she went there.

The Meadows at Shannondell is by and far one of the best assisted living facilities available. Juliette and Emily on the second floor go above and beyond to make sure our loved one is taken care of on a daily basis. We sleep better at night when they are are working. Thank you for hiring staff that truly care about our loved one.

Beautiful facilty very tightly guarded! This is top notch in rehab and also has a unit for memory care, thus privacy and security are important...and they handle it well.I had a personal experience (outside of my professional visits) of having a firend go through rehab there....she spoke SO highly of the care and the staff, and considering she was a retired RN and hospital administrator, that speaks for itself. She clearly sang their praises, and how determined they were to get her back on her feet and feeling her normal self.I was impressed with each of my visits....by not only the professionalism but the clear demand for resident privacy!I HIGHLY recomment The Meadows.

The Meadows at Shannondell is by and far one of the best assisted living facilities available. The staff is extremely friendly, the facilities are beautiful, and there is of course always a well trained medical staff on site. Shannondell provides its residents with an experience unlike any other assisted living facility or nursing home. The facility itself gives off more of an air of a vacation resort rather than a home for the elderly. However on one of my visits to Shannondell I did encounter an incident where one of the staff members was very rude to my family, practically scolding us for not knowing where to go to visit our family friend living in the facility. Though this is most likely a onetime incident, it is still due to note that perhaps they should screen their employees a little bit better. In all Shannondell is a wonderful place, and a perfectly suited facility for anyone in need of assisted living.
