My father is thriving here!!! The staff are caring and attentive. The grounds are beautiful! There are so many activities to keep my dad active and engaged, and all his needs are taken care of. His room is a very nice size, and we were able to bring some of his furniture to make it feel like home. I highly recommend The Terrace at Chestnut Hill

My sister has been in The Terrace at Chestnut Hill for a month now. They're all very nice. They're helpful. They're kind. The activities are probably minimal for my sister because she's very active. But they have nice activities. They have sing-a-longs, games, music, and cocktail hours. They have a lot of nice activities. The living atmosphere is very pleasant. The food is good, but I think the portions could be a little bigger. The staff is very nice.
My sister is in a studio and it's large enough. It has a bathroom and the furniture was already there, which was very nice. She was able to use the furniture that was there. It was adequate and pleasant. What they can improve on is the food. It could be a little upgraded but it's okay and it's adequate.

Research and visit facilities because the Terrace at Chestnut Hill had us fooled. There are very few residents and not much liveliness and it's a little depressing. Lots of management turnover which is a red flag. The building is nice and so are some of the staff. We took our family member out due to persistent problems with the care of our loved one...

We liked the administrator of The Terrace at Chestnut Hill who showed us around, and we liked her philosophy very much. They are now considering my husband. We liked it very much, but it was twice as far from where I live. The administrator seemed to have a caring attitude, not only about the patients, but about her staff. They gave us a dessert to take with us, I think that was bread pudding, and that was very nice.

The rooms are nice and quirky. The services are affordable for the area. The staff are pleasant and responsive. They seem to know what their doing. We love how they handled the pandemic. It was scary for a minute, but they had minimal spread there. Kudos to the team. There don't seem to be too many activities happening now, but prior to the pandemic my aunt loved going to them. My aunt told me there's a new chef in charge and the food is better. All that matters is that my aunt likes it and is comfortable there.

The rooms at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill were smaller than where my mom currently is. The staff members that I met there were pretty friendly. They also have entertainment for the residents.

We got to visit The Terrace at Chestnut Hill. I thought it was great and I liked the community. My mom was very satisfied with it, she's just not ready. We were looking at the assisted living portion, and I thought that the staff members were great. The person who took me around was really good, and she showed me the place. I had the chance to talk to some of the residents there, and they all seemed very happy and satisfied. The staff is really good. The rooms are also good. I like that they have three levels of rooms and they all look nice and accommodating. The dining area was good as well. They have a snack area and a larger dining room. We were told that when new people come in they try to put them with someone who has been there for some time to make them more comfortable. So they try to pair you up during meal times. I remember seeing their workout area also.

I was very impressed with the facility, the Terrace and backyard settings, and the decor - it was very warm and inviting. I felt the offerings (food, activities, transportation, etc.) were on the more upscale side and well worth the costs. The staff is also very impressive - friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Great interaction between residents and staff. I also attend different offerings for caregivers and highly recommend their outreach to the caregivers and the community. For my mother's needs, there was not enough walking path for her to take her daily walks and the neighborhood is not conducive to safe walking for a senior with mobility, balance issues, etc. Beautiful setting in Chestnut Hill and the front desk staff are always very pleasant. I saw residents engaged in different sedentary activities and not staying in their rooms or wandering aimlessly. I don't suppose they attract many Jewish residents - they celebrate holidays and encourage participation, but to attend worship services would require special trips. I could fill in on that score, but it is too important to my mother, so we chose a more Jewish facility.

We like The Terrace at Chestnut Hill. It is very nice, and pleasant. The staff member showed me around during the tour, and they seemed very attentive and helpful. I like that they keep very good track of my mother's supplies, and they have a menu for the meals. It's just that they were supposed to contact me about the price, and they didn't, but we got that straightened out. It's in a nice location and the parking is really good.

I visited The Terrace at Chestnut Hill. The rooms were inadequate and claustrophobic. We looked at the largest apartments, but the living room was so tiny that all you could fit in there was a sofa, a chair, and a TV. The kitchen was right off the living room, which was also really tiny, including the bedroom. There were only two little closets in the apartment and would not accommodate a week's worth of clothing. The dining area was well-appointed and bright. I saw one of these young aides holding some sort of activity but only two to three people were attending. People were a lot worse off than I would imagine at an assisted living facility. They were really sick and it's really more of a nursing home to me. It was early afternoon when we visited, but nobody was doing anything. A lot of people were wandering up and down the halls in their walkers or wheelchairs -- there didn't seem to be much stimulation there. They had an exercise room, but I didn't see anyone there. I also found it to be very expensive for what's being offered. The building itself is a beautiful facility, it looks to me like an old mansion that was renovated. They said you could have a pet, but the place is not fenced in properly so your pet could just run into the street.

I liked the setup of Arbor Terrace, it looked like it was redone, and it was an old mansion. The grounds were really nice, and all the residents seemed really friendly and happy.

The director of Arbor Terrace at Chestnut Hill was fantastic. She took me around and showed me everything. It was a little pricey for our budget. The only downfall was where it was located. But other than that, the place was beautiful. The staff was very nice. They showed us the dining area. It was laid out very nicely.

My Dad has been at Arbor Terrace since August 2014. I have been so impressed with the entire staff and the facility itself. Everything is very well maintained and there's more of a home-like atmosphere than in most personal care facilities. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect and the staff know the residents by name. There are activities throughout the day, they have an option of several choices on their daily menu for their meals, they go on outings, and we are allowed to visit my Dad at any time. I thank God for the staff and managers at Arbor Terrace.

It was a very nice place. They had a doctor who comes a couple of times a week. They had very nice accomodation with a large bedroom and a kitchenette. The food tasted really good. They served three meals a day and snacks.
They have games and invited people to do concerts within the facility. The residents also go shopping. I can say that the place is very secured and safe. The residents like being there. The people who worked there were very friendly good. I would recommend this place to others.

I visited Arbor Terrace today. It seemed very warm and inviting. We saw a reunion of old friends and there were residents and staff greeting us as they walked through the halls. The whole staff there seemed very friendly. They have laundry, housekeeping, three meals a day, and also personal care for the assisted living portion. They have a geriatric counselor that meets with the residents one-on-one and helps them either transition into assisted living or just checks in on them once in a while.
The room was nice. The person was in the process of moving out so there was furniture around, but it was a good-sized room. It has a kitchenette and a large bathroom. I did see the dining area. It was furnished nicely and I saw people cleaning up and setting up the tables again for the next meal. They were very personable as well.
They have all kinds of activities going on. They have an enrichment program where students of Arcadia University come in and have classes with them. It's a very educational environment. They have word games to stimulate their minds and they have themed events and celebrations -- they have all kinds of games and exercises, too. They usually have three activities going on at the same time throughout the day. They also have physical therapy there.

I was only at Arbor Terrace for a brief tour but while there everything seemed to be nice. I didn’t see anything that was awkward. It was definitely a positive experience. The staff is very courteous. We weren’t rushed; they took time in answering questions that we had. It was definitely a clean place. I don’t know how old the building itself was but everything about it seemed modern. Their dining room was well lit and was wide open space with plenty of places to sit. Some residents there seemed passive; different people have their health situations but no one seemed unhappy. They have crafts and they do fieldtrips. They rent a shuttle bus to come by and at certain times during the month people who are interested can join along and they take a trip off to a restaurant for dinner. They do shopping trips as well.

Arbor Terrace was satisfactory. It was clean. It was probably a medium size community and it looked new. I was treated well. The staff were warm and informative. It was homey. I didn't see any activities but they do have an activity board. It's a nice facility; it's just not affordable. It's also out of my mother's price range.

I like Arbor Terrace at Chestnut Hill a lot. The woman that I talked to was excellent. She spoke very highly of the community. She talked about the unique diversity of educated people that live there. This is an assisted community, but they also have memory care. The rooms were very spacious. The window sills were deep. However, the bathrooms and the kitchenettes were a little outdated. One part of the building was very old but beautiful. It was the mansion. What they did was, they made additions to the place, and I thought it was very nice. So the grounds were half new and half old.

Arbor Terrace had the nicest outdoor facility. They had a very beautiful terrace and garden. Part of it is an older building and part is new, so it had a funny transition in the middle. The décor is really lovely, classic club décor. It is the most visibly populated place that we visited, and most of the residents were out in the common rooms. There were several different activities going on. The staff was great. They were really nice, and many of them had worked there for a long time. The rooms were a little bit smaller than the other places, which was totally fine. It had the most ethnic diversity.

It was very nice. The food wasn't quite good, but the people were nice. They offer a more extended program. They can do hospice and all sorts of things. It was clean, homey, and it seem like they renovated frequently enough that it was up to date. The grounds was fairly nice though small. I would recommend Arbor Terrace to others.

This facility is well maintained. The staff provide excellent care and attention to details and are very helpful. The meals are well-prepared and there is a variety of cuisines that provide a unique and interesting dining experience. The residents are also offered a variety of activities and events.
I recomment Arbor Terrace at Chestnut Hill in Philadelphia, PA as a reliable alternative when trying to decide how to provide a safe and secure living environment for your parent(s).

Arbor Terrace is as close to home as any place away from home can be! The facility is beautiful. The main entrance and lobby is in an old mansion. The rest of the facility has been added to this stunning building. The staff is friendly and helpful. They seem to be actually happy to be working there. They always have time to stop and chat and ask if you need anything. They have the utmost respect for their client and it shows in everything they do.They have private or semi-private rooms. The rooms are very nicely appointed and large enough for the single bed, a closet, a dresser and enough sitting room so that a visitor doesn't feel cramped. The bathroom is set up for the handicapped. All meals are served as though you are in a fine restaurant. The tables are cleaned promptly after each meal and reset thoughtfully. There is always a choice of 2 entrees. If you don't like either, you can request a sandwich. There is also a room that is stocked with coffee, juice and some kind of fresh pastry as well as cereal and milk. This room is accessible to residents at all times.Days are filled with activities such as worship services, movies, bingo, card playing, and sometimes a visiting musical group or lecturer.Residents are treated like the intelligent, valuable older adults that they are. Arbor Terrace is a sparkling clean, friendly, warm and comfortable place to reside.
